Question about HP Photosmart M417 Digital Camera

Open Question

Memory card not detected

It goes the same since some days. All of a sudden the camera is not reading the memory card and it can only store pics on its own memory. The small red light under the zoom botton blinks once or twice, but it doesn't detect the card.
I have a 512 and a 2gb cards and it is the same for both of them.

Thanks for helping.

SOURCE: Memory card problem

I had the exact same problem, and i had no luck finding a solution, so i was messing around with it, and i figured out what the issue was. Go to Menu and then to the SETUP option. When you scroll down there should be a USB option. Change it from Digital Camera to Disk Drive, and your computer/camera will register that it has a card in it!

SOURCE: memory card problem

Assuming your camera acts like a removable drive when connected to the PC try the following.

  1. Right click the removable drive(your camera) in my computer and go properties>tools>error checking>tick both boxes>ok
  2. Wait till it finishes and check if you can now view the contents of the card. And copy to safe place straight away.
  3. Try http://www.officerecovery.com/freeundelete/ to recover any deleted files or fragments of damaged files.
  4. Let me know if any of this works.

My Kodak M530 had been working alright since I bought it on December 2010 but suddenly stopped reading the SDHC card about a week ago. The card is fine because I can read the content from my Mac....

Using the internal memory locks some cameras into that mode. To get your card to work again, do this...with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, re-insert the card and it should work.

Not reading the memory card

You need to get rid of the pics in the internal memory. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions. Now, your card should work properly.

I have been using Samsung Digimax 301 Digital Camera since 2004 when I purchased it. Suddenly now I find that my beautiful camera began showing 'full memory' after only three pictures were captured....

Sounds like your camera has switched over to storing pictures on the internal memory which is very small. With the card out of the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, using a separate card reader, download any pics from the memory card. Then, insert the card back into the camera and do the "format" thing again to erase and initialize the card. Everything should be back to normal. By the way, your camera can't get a virus.

Memory stick pro duo sony won't read

Files on a flash drive and memory cards in a card reader can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the memory card and flash drive you may need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

Internal memory is full,I have erased all

Take out memory card from camera, format internal memory to delete all pictures at once or delete them one by one.
Once memory card is inserted in camera, internal memory is no longer available to store/ delete pictures so remove memory card from camera to get access to internal memory.

Sorry but it sounds like the card is pootched. Very common problem with these sticks. Best bet is to get multiple 2gb sticks to ensure that when one goes (and one will) you won't lose all of your pics

How do i down load pic on computer

Almost any computer store (even drugstores these days!) sell inexpensive memory card readers that have a connector that you plug into a USB port on your computer. Most have slots to read several different types and sizes of cards. Just be sure that the reader you buy takes CompactFlash (CF) cards that the Nikon 5700 uses. Your computer treats the card and reader as one more disk drive.
