Need to clean every thing thats making computer run slow

If your hard drive is too full, then your computer is going to perform slower. Delete old files which are not required.
Remove programs that you are no longer using. Delete temporary files.
Empty your recycle bin. Right click on Recycle Bin. Click Empty Recycle Bin>Yes.
Run an error check on your computer. The error check can remove errors that slow down your computer. If you are using Windows, you can do this by clicking Start>My Computer. Right click on your hard drive (typically c:) and then select Properties. Click the Tools tab>Check Now and then Start.
Defragment your computer. A fragmented computer runs less efficiently. By defragmenting your computer, your computer will operate in a more logical and faster way.
Clean up your registry. You can purchase software that will fix any registry errors on your computer.
Perform this computer maintenance on a weekly basis.

Take care of your hard disk

Taking care of your hard disk is pure and simple. There is no big high knowledge approach for this all you have to do is this.
  1. Do defragmentation regularly

How To- In Widow XP Go to the start button > Accessories > system too> disk defragment. Here choose your drive one by one and click defragment; it might take more than hour to finish defragmenting your hard drive depending on your hard disk size.
  1. Do Disk check up

How To--- Go to my computer right click on C drive first . go to properties >hit the Tool tap> check now. (For c drive Computer will tell you that the next time computer will start it will check the hard drive for error and will try to fix the problem) check the boxes and hit ok and restart computer will open with the blue screen a don do any thing wait for it boot automatically. It will fix your problem.
  1. Get ride of the garbage
How to --- Go to start button run utility type %TMP% and hit ok. It will open a Folder with some weird file in it selects them all and SHIFT DELETES them. It might tell you that some of the files can not be delete but that’s quite ok leave them as it is.
  1. Leave your CPU dust free. And Always leave at least 200 mb free in your drive.

Computer is very slow

Try defraging.
If your willing to spend money
get more RAM it worked for me, ask someone or look it up, about how much ram your computer can "handle" and buy the RAM stick according to your pc max capacity

No, in almost all cases upgrading your computer wil only make it run slower. If you want to improve the computers speed there a couple things you can do. 1) Run spyware/virus scans, 2) Add RAM to increase computer speed, 3) Defrag
Software Critics says,

Try these--Highly Effective Ways to Optimize PC Speed made simple
Solution: 1: Create restore point and take registry backup.
2: Delete all temp files.
3: Delete all unwanted software's and security software's from add/remove program.
4: Disable all unwanted services from startup and then remove from registry.
5: Reset internet explorer and then register all .dll files.
6: Scan with spyware removal malwarebyte, hijackthis and Trojan removal.
7: Check windows update if found and then download and install.
8: Defrag C: drive
9: Restart the computer, and then check it.
A big NO NO: It's not recommended to edit registry before upgrading a PC or even making a slow PC faster as some registry cleaners can scrape out old registry entries of which some may be necessary to keep some programs running! And avoid websites trying to sell you something unnecessary.

reboot into safe mode. You can kill the power to the PC without shutting down. When you turn it back on it will ask you a few boot option, select safe mode, then try the defrag.

Hello there: really just looking for some solid advise this hp52w w has the original xp operating system in it with sp2 installed works ok but it gets so slow on the starting windows screen it takes...

Hello Mike, Hi, may I suggest you try first to defrag your hard drive, Im sure when you power on your PC, the hard disk led keeps on blinking, your hard drive may have developed bad tracks and sectors, this slow moving process tends to go forever.

Defragmenting and checkdisk can find faults and bad sectors and tracks that slows down the performance of your PC.

Reformatting should be done if your defragmentation procedure fails to speed up your PC.

Try to run an antivirus program, which may help speed up your PC by detecting viruses, that tends to load forever, or slow down the booting process.

I was deleting files on my computer, trying to make extra space, and I accidentally deleted the sound.

Go to the manufacturers web site, find your model and the drivers should be right there.

After you are whole again, please go to and have them do a free scan of your computer. They will give you a comprehensive report with some recommended fixes. Some fixes are $ and some are free.

Please get CCleaner (google it) and let this free program do your house keeping duties. Use the first two routines on the top left.

Please ber Comodo Reg Cleaner, another wonderful free to use cleaner that will work on your registry.

Please get Spy Bot, search and destroy at PC world - another free utility. Dont be misled, get the free one called Spy Bot - search and destroy.

I use these at least monthly and usually weekly to keep my computer in good shape.

Following yor cleanup, please defrag your drive using either windows defrag or Defraggler, a free utility from the same folks that make CClean.

I hope this helps you

hi im wesley. you might have a virus of some sorts or try defragmenting your pc it will also speed it up as this sometimes happens when you have alot of things on your pc and when you delete stuff and put files on all the time it slows down alot and can hang because the files are mixed up on the hard drive. to defragment go to start-all programs-accesories-system tools-defragment then say analyze then defragment.
