Red service light on ,have checked brushes and they are as new, won't operate at all

    Could be couple problems, switch or the service light needs to be reset, give me the model number and I will try and talk you thru how to reset it.

    hello,my name is paul and ive got a hilti te56. the red light came on and its now stopped ..is there a way of getting it to go again without sending it to hilti.i it didnt cost much and for the amount of times i use the drill it wont be worth the money.if there is any way manually i can reset it thankyou

Hi. It all depends on the age of it as there are 2 different types of electronics fitted to the TE76.
If you have an early model, the service light came on when the brushes were worn or it was in need of a service. Check your brushes 1st. then to reset the light, simply pull the trigger and hold it untill it resets.
If you have the newer type then you will need to reset the service light by attaching a data reader to the service light. this data reader plugs in to a PC, you will also need the HILTI ODA Software to go with it. Basicaly you need to send it back to hilti to have is serviced and reset. if your machine is less than 2 years old, this is FREE. just phone hilti and ask them to collect it. they will pick it up, service it and get it back to you in 3 working days. if you not sure how old your machine is simply phone Hilti and ask them, quoting the serial number. this is etched into the plastic on the left side of the machine underneath the white writing on the motor housing. You did not mention which model it is. Some of Hilti's hammer drills have a theft protection where it has to be scanned by a preprogrammed key. If the tool is activated it will work until unplugged for 20 minutes then it will not work again until scanned by the key.

SOURCE: te 76 service light is on, brushes are new.

Take all the screws from the handle to the motor housing out and unplug handle. While holding the trigger in the on position plug in power cord and still holding trigger remove plug, reassemble and try it. Sometimes you have to plug in and then squeeze trigger and hold it and then unplug but either one should work. If not you might have a switch problem. Brush won't turn on dyson dc07

There was a belt that was to be attached to the motor shaft under the belt cover, be sure that it didn't pop off. the recommended fix is to replace the clutch, not the belts in the clutch. if you only replaced the belts it could still be a bad clutch.

My te70 doesnt wok and the red light is on

The service light usually comes on when the brushes are low. The brushes usually have a small metal tab that grounds out when the brushes wear down to the point of needing to be changed.

BRUHES WON'T ROTATE

The brushes are operated by suction from the motor. Most of the problems with these models are in the turbine, it just needs to be serviced, some replaced. You can check the filter under the bottom (a red or white pull tab). Also check the lid on the lower tank to on properly.

WHEN YOU PUSH THE BUTTON NOTHING HAPPENS, THE RED LIGHT IS ON

that is a service light and means there is some type of failure. If this tool is under warranty I would call 1-800-879-8000 and see about getting repaired. If not go to Hilti.com and download a breakdown for this tool. You might want to check the brushes first for wear because they have a sensor that triggered the light.

My hoover carpet scrubber the brushes won

(1) Remove the brush block and assure the presence of the square drive pin on top of one brush. It should be about 1/4 inch square, two inches long to connect o the drive mechanism.

(2) Remove and clean the filter screen from the base, behind the brushes. Squeeze the two red tabs together, and pull down from the base. Clean the hiar/debris from the screen.

(3) Assure the Brush Speed knob on the hood is NOT set to the OFF position.

Hilti te505 service light on

Usually the service light comes on when the tool requires new brushes and o rings. I would first check the brushes for extreme wear. If they are O.K. the service light might reset like some other Hilti Hammers I work on. If you are comfortable with removing the whole handle assembly and separating it from the main section of tool you will see that there are prongs to lock into the electronic assembly (which is what you want) Now comes the tricky part. Plug in the handle and pull the trigger and while holding the trigger on unplug it. Reinstall the handle and see if this cures the problem. Some times it takes a couple times, but usually while trying this the light will blink and then go off. It is worth a try before sending in for repair.
