Unless you being a rigorous drying procedure with hair drivers and removing the covers, it's pretty certain it's going to be shot (especially if it was still receiving 120 volts of power at the time of the flood) . It doesn't really matter what kind of water it is white (clean), gray (sink) or black (toilet).

the longer that it sits wet, the quicker the internal components will begin to corrode. Items that are "Immersed In Water" typically do not revive after drying. They could be revived if someone was to re-build the units for you, but usually are not worth it when you consider the costs involved.

If it's an older collectible piece, it might be worth it.

My bosch washing machine Maxx classic wont turn on

Please check the main power from the power outlet the mains plug to the controller unit. If there is power then check within for the fuse, if fuse is intact then check for burnt items, if so the board could be damaged and needs a replacement. In most cases if the fuse has blown it is possible that the board has failed and so changing the damaged component could be difficult as the board is immersed in epoxy.

I have a dcr-sr47 sony cam cord. Got wet today and only red light by battery on back lower left flashes now and no picture nothing. Help thank you

As you probably know liquid damage can be serious for electrical items. You don't say if the camcorder just got splashed or was immersed.

First thing is remove the main battery and any coin cell that may be a back up battery. Then place in a warm dry place (airing cupboard) and leave to dry. Try to stand the unit on its battery end.

Then once dried for a few days try it with the battery. Sadly water damage can and does kill the parts inside so professional repair may be your only chance.

I have an samsung YP-U5AW/XSP mp3 player into got immersed in water and now it wont even switch on... i tried charging it, it cannot be recognised i plugged it into my lenovo laptop , its still not...

Never charge any equipment which has water log. This may cause worse damage to the equipment and you may get shock too.The only way is you can take it to the authorized Samsung service person and they will remove the water log and check for damages in the circuit board. If the board is damaged too much no other go it cannot be used again. If minor problem service person can handle it.
Thank You

We dropped our camera in the water. We dried it out and put it in Rice for 4 days. It still will not turn on. Any ideas?

You've done all you can. Water damage is rarely recoverable and by now the water will have left corrosion internally which cannot be fixed.

The only chance your camera had was if the immersion had been in clean fresh water, had been very brief with the camera powered down at the time of immersion, and immediately after recovery it needed the memory card and batteries removed, a thorough shaking with all body caps removed and then straight into warm dry air. Even then, success would have been a matter of luck.

Professional repairers will not touch water-damaged cameras unless they are very rare and expensive and even then they will not guarantee their work.

Sorry, but your camera is as dead as if it had been crushed or incinerated; your only fix is to replace it.

I purchased a perko urn model #107Sss and the water has a terrible metalic taste. What can i do

I bought the same horrible, cheap, dishonest unit. They disingenuously say to rinse and boil once. I've boiled the water at least twelve or thirteen times. They also brag it doesn't need immersion (not because such units don't require immersion since that will damage the unit and they don't need immersion) but because of their superior spirituality. Let them answer for dishonesty in 120 years.

Electric motor for swimming pool pump was immersed in water. how do i get it to run again

If there is no permanent damage, it needs to be dried out to eliminate the ground likely caused by the flood. Your best bet would be a fan or small forced air heater left blowing on it for a few hours. If you can, read resistance from the line connections to ground and once that reading is infinite, you can hook the motor back up and run it. You may find mechanical damage from the flood also, such as bearing noise. If it is present, you'll want to fix that sooner than later as the longer you wait, the more damage and chances of possible total failure go up. increases

Ejector pumps started to go off frequently

The ejector pumps probably pump to the same sewer pipe you had rooted. Rooting can do damage. Trees can break into your sewer pipe, jam them up with roots, and let ground water in. The ground water may be following your sewer pipes on the outside back to your house. It costs a lot, but you can have your pipes examined with a tv camera, the rooter people can do that. Make sure your ejectors have check valves, and they are working right. It's easy for something to get stuck in the check, and then water will come back.

Z20fd got wet in my daughter's purse

If an electronic device gets wet or is submerged, DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON! In most instances, this short circuits/damages the device. If you let the device dry for 3 to 10 days, it may clear of moisture, and work without short circuiting. If the device was immersed in fresh-water, that is.

If it was immersed in salt water, the likelihood of damage and failure is almost guaranteed.

Pop spilled on camera

I think you can consider this is a water damaged item since water has been immersed into the mainboard which cause sensor failure. Camera internal components were very fragile and I suggest you not open it if you really don't know what is inside unless you have opened it once. I have fixed cameras for my friend before but mostly with part failure not water damaged and I believe your is just partial damaged only. Below is some help links to direct you how to fix your own camera: and other easy way is go to google search URL window or Yahoo and type Casio Digital Camera Service Guides, then they will provide you a lot of links where you can get information to fix your camera. I hope this help.
