There's a small hole in the front of the disk drive close to the base of the tray and near the button used to open the drive. get a paper clip, open one end, hold carefully, and place it in the hole and push carefully till the drive opens.

to close, just push the tray back in firmly but without slaming it in. don't want to damage any of the gears inside.

Hello Jroot929,
to open the disk player manually, you will need a regular size paper clip.
Straighten it out.. then look at the front of your disk player and look for a small pin size hole.. insert the paper clip into it, pushing it a bit, you may feel a small resistance but just push it..the player will open at this moment a bit.then just pull it out. Hopefully this helps.

I haved a Emachine EL 1300G-01W that has crashed

Power it down, pull the power lead out, remove the cover from the base and check that all the leads (to the hard drive and the motherboard) are seated correctly - by physically pushing them in. Then push and hold the power button on the front for 10 seconds. Then replace the cover and power lead and try starting it up.

How do you open computer to insert wireless card?

There should be 2 screws on the back. The side panel will slide off and then you can insert it into a PCI slot.

If its a laptop get it done professionally

Completing a recovery without a disk?

This is a common virus attack that will throw you out everytime you login, or licensing issues

For virus problem is bit tricky and needs to deal with registry settings and also need network computer

Try following

Log on to a networked computer.
Run Regedit.exe
Point your cursor to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Select File > Connect Remote Registry
Type computer name (infected computer)
Navigate to the following location in registry of destination or infected computer

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Edit below two values in right pane:

Shell
Userinit

Change the two values to
Shell=explorer.exe
Userinit = c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe
close the Registry
Restart Infected computer.
You should be able to log on to computer. if it not work then go to back steps and just copy and overwrite the file userinit.exe from installation source.

My emachines EL 1200 desktop stopped working during bad storm

You can try to reset the computer by removing all power sources and letting it sit for a time. Then powering it back up and see what happens. That's called a hard reset.
I am guessing that the storm surge damaged your motherboard. The power supply is working or nothing would work. Try to hit the proper F key and get into the set up on the motherboard. A message should come up when you start up the computer. This is to see if your motherboard is working enough to open the set up. You can then tell it to reset to bois to factory settings.

If none of that will work, I suspect *********** board is bad and needs to be replaced.

I am sorry I don't have more positive information for you. But I hope that this will get you on the right track to solving your problem. Remember, this is only an educated guess. If you do find this helpful, please leave positive feedback for me.

Thank You,

Brian

My computer makes a loud noise in the fan

The drive door issue may indicate a virus infection. As to the fan, you would have it replaced. If not under warranty open the case and track which fan the noise is coming from

Crashed hard drive on emachines T5026

Pardon me, but NO! The statement, "two things are responsible for booting up computer RAM and Hard Drive" is simply not true.

A hard drive crash COULD cause the symptoms you describe, but that is more indicative of a virus infection. When you say the XP reinstallation disk would not start it exactly how did you use that disk? Attempt to use the repair console? Boot directly from the disk? Attempt reinstallation of the whole operating system? If you attempted reinstallation, do you also have the specific drivers for all of the components E-Machines used when they built your computer (you will need at least some of them.)

Post again with some more details about how you used the reinstallation disk.
