Re: Not heating the food

Sam..vane...two different problems.

Sam...find out if you've got power in the outlet you're using. If not, you've got to check to see if you've got a blown fuse in the unit. Also ...see below.

vane...chances are you have a power issue or the thermosensor which is used for a safety has blown. It is the size of a dime and 3/8 inch wires. You'll probably find it has opened. Found attached inside the control area to the side of the microwave heating area.

Sharp 1200w microwave seems to be tripping lightly (can hear clicking noises)and cause heating to be irregular

Clean the food off the inside top of the microwave Now,Or that noise you are hear will stop along with the microwave. The food gets on the Formica Squire which is how the micro waves heat your food. 1st unplug the Microwave then spray the inside of the unit with something like Fantastic or something strong and use glove so you don't burn you hand,Also if you have a scrub brush use it,And clean all the soap out and raise very well.

Food does not heat

it sounds like your magnitron has gone its what heats the food up or it could be the high voltage transformer you will have to take it to a repair shop that deals with microwave as they give off alot of raidation and if any of the parts I mentioned are gone can be expensive might be cheaper to buy new one

Ge spacemaker microwave jvm1640cj03 stopped heating. interior always clean. light, timer etc working.

If it stops heating and the other parts of the oven still work, the problem is with the magnetron circuit. If it makes a loud buzzing noise when you try to heat the food, then the magnetron has shorted out. The replacement cost for the magnetron is almost as much as a new oven, so it does not make sense to have it fixed. Sorry.

The microwave runs but doesn't cook the food. It made sort of vibrating noise and stopped heating. Everything else seems to be working.

HI. this is called Magnetron failure. you will need to replace this failed device. it is responsible for the heating of the contents.

Kenmore microwave stopped heating

simply stated.. if it fails to cook.. you may have either a bad magnetron tube ( that's the part that generates the microwave energy that cooks the food) or the filament transformer feeding that magnetron is bad. In either case.. you're probably better off replacing the entire appliance than repairing it.. Hope that helps...
