What do I use to clean the exhaust intake on my Echo PB2100?

With the unit cold you can spray some carb cleaner into the intake and the exhaust screen to remove fouling deposits.

Be safe and good luck

Pull cord

This is caused by a broken recoil spring. It can be replaced (or sometimes repaired) but it can be a dangerous and dirty job. The spring is cheap, so get a quote from a local shop for repairs.

Cord is stuck. Can't pull it

is cord stuck out or in? sounds like possible fan/flywheel cam loose on you which will cause this, take recoil off and see if it rolls over by hand with spark plug out, if so then reinstall recoil and see if pull rope works then, if not check fan and/flywheel on opposite side you will have to dissasemble case to do this, lots of screws, once there check flywheel key in flywheel to see if it has spun, if so you will need new flywheel approx$ 60.00 part hope this helps you

Cord is locked, or maybe its the motor. Its an Echo PB260L Backpack

This is easy enough to check. There are 4 screws that secure the recoil starter to the engine. Remove these 4 screws and remove the starter assembly. Pull on the rope and see if the starter is operating properly. If not, go to your local Echo dealer and get a new one...they are about $30. Also try to turn the starter cup by hand to see if the engine is locked up. If the engine is locked up, remove the spark plug and try to turn the starter cup again. If it is still locked up, then the repairs would cost more than a new blower.
Good luck!

The cord sounds like its came loose and won't spin the engine

you need to remove the re-coil mechanism and if the cord isnt too bad retie it on the recoil and rewind the recoil spring and reassemble to the blower

Sounds like it has seized up. If the pull cord won't pull then the motor is locked up. Did you run gas/oil mix for the fuel its a 2 cycle motor...

  • Echo recommends 89 octane fuel and 50:1 mix to one gallon gas for your pb2100
  • go to this site and find fuel and read about it if you would like
  • i use 40:1 in everything i have and have had no problems
  • The oil you buy make sure it is for 2 cycle engines and not outboard motors
  • 50:1 =2.6oz to i gallon gas
  • 40:1 =3.2 oz to i gallon gas
