This is a sw boot up screen. this is what the screen will look like with no sw on the device, so you guessed it....the download was unsuccessful and corrupted the firmware.....if you tried to reinstall the sw again, and it does not work, you might need a new t-mobile to do that.....OR, you can try to do a master reset by pressing the sw keys.

to do that, turn off the phone, and press and hold the soft keys (buttons located beneath the touch screen that have the lines on them on top of the green call button and the red end call button).....while holding these down, press the power button for 3 seconds and release the power button.....all this time you are holding those soft keys down....the phone SHOULD turn on and go to a black screen with white this time you can relase the two the green button and reset. if this does not friend, you need another one......good luck!

It seems like my screen is fading will it restore if a update my rom

No, updating you ROM will NOT fix your problem, your problem is most likely a failing screen, a common thing.. unless you can replace it, you will soon need a new phone...

IPAQ HX4700 won't sync with desk top

Hello, Please try the following steps. They could help with your problem. First open this link to hp's download page for your PDA. Then select your pda's operating system (windows mobile 2003se or windows mobile 5). then from the following page select the ROM update and download it. Try to master reset the pda (you may find informations about this in the user manual). After you reset the device, don't tap anything on the screen (don't follow the welcome wizard or anything it asks you to do). Just connect the usb cable to the computer. Activesync may try to connect to the pda, may fail or things like this. It doesn't matter what does it do as long as it does something. Now open the ROM file you downloaded and press "next" untill the process begins. If the setup asks you to reset the device or things similar, don't do it. Just continue with the setup and "tell" the program you already done that. Make sure your battery is charged before doing this. Also make sure the pda and the computer are left alone these 10 minutes (that's how long it takes to do the ROM update). If the ROM update fail, please post a comment and give me the error message and code. We will take it from there. Also please inform me what version of windows are you using and eventually an email adress for me to send various service programs required for the next stage (if the rom update fails to work). Good luck, Bogdan

I want to install an English operating system in my pda. The current system is Chinese. How do I do that

Hello, you can flash your phone with ROM provided by HP if you are with Windows Mobile 6.

"The Package contains ROM Update utility (RUU) only for products supporting the following SKU IDs. Supported SKU IDs: FA979AA#ABA, FA980AA#ABA, FA982AA#ABB, FA982AT#ABB, FA981AA#ABG, FA981AA#ARE, FA981AA#ACJ, and FA981AA#UUF."

You can find your Product ID by going here:
Start>Settings>AssetViewer>System>Product ID

If your Product ID match with these download ROM Update from Manfufactures web site and update your Pocket PC.

Just select your language: Chinese (Simplified); Chinese (Traditional); English (International); French; German; Italian ;Japanese; Korean; Portuguese (Brazilian); Russian; Spanish, from download section for your pocket pc.

It`s around a 38MB. Install it on your desktop machine and follow instructions provided by ROM Update program.

This is not new operating system installation, it`s just language update to your current installation.

How to use information, you can find on this section in manufactures web site.

I do not test it on this phone, use it with caution and on your own risk.

P3400 audio manager dosen't play any mp3 and i can't put any mp3 as aring tone

alternately u can do this

if ur phone is HTC P3450 ELF or HTC3452 ELFIN there are 2 versions of this device then go to start >Programs>fileExplorer>select music file u want to set as ringtone, and then long tap on the file for like 4 sec a menu will appear u can select set as ringtone and ur file will be set it is the std procedure for it

and about that HTC audio manager u can check for updated ROM from >ur region >support and then check if new ROM is availble it i will address ur issues of audio manager

but if u really want a new look for ur PDA and want to make it like touch HD then my friend i will suggest this but at ur own risk but the results are really worth it

see this update to CUSTOM ROM for ur pda and u will get more free memory for programs and storage i know it is a big rpoblem in this pda and u will get new look like touch hd

download Hard SPL 3.1 from here

and then Lite version for ELF from here

first install hard spl 3.1 as directed on ur pda and then update to custom rom from the the file downloaded

pls rate me FIXYA for my response i have lots of tweaks for PDA's

MDA 3 dead

If a device fails during a rom upgrade its as good as dead because it doesn't have enough instruction to start the process over.
