Question about X-10 X10 Smart Repeater Remote Controls

Open Question

X-10 Pro plug in pool lighting controller worked for awhile, then quit, the pool contractor said it had to be plugged into a certain outlet I had, but it still doesn't work. Do I have to drain the pool down to the light to replace it, to see if the the problem is the light? Also, if I purchase a remote to replace this, is it easy to install and is it compatable? We have had the pool for 4 years, and have not had a light for 3 1/2 yrs of that time, Very frustrated, Thank you Barbara from Redding, CA

SOURCE: my X10 Pro pool lighting controller worked for a while, then quit

Most likely the pool motor or other devices are making the powerline noisy. I suggest either getting an x 10 tester or unpluggin hosehold devices until you find teh source of the noise.

Can two separate convection units (microwave and oven) be combined/joined into one cord and plugged into one outlet and BOTH work efficiently? The contractors I hired combined all wires to both unit

You need to have the contractors return and troubleshoot the problem free since they told you they both worked when you purchased them. There's an implied warranty here. The two ovens should have been tested before the contractor left your house to prove they both worked together.

X10 mini controler will not turn off pool light

the unit is probably transmitting but the receiver on the lights is not getting an acceptable signal.

try placing your controller on a line closer to your main electrical panel.

Unfortunately x-10 technology is very unreliable its convenient but its also a pain in the ****.

Do the basics make sure the controller is close to your panel, make sure its not plugged into the same circuit that your appliances, computer or electronics are plugged into as they generate RF interference.

Smarthome.com sells several X-10 boosters, if your home has a 2 phase power get one that plugs into a 220v outlet that will "bridge" THE TWO PHASES.
