Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Open Question

Unauthorized charger Phone had run down completely and shut off due to low battery. Plugged in to car charger on the way home, it was charging. Unplugged it after car shut off and when plugged into regular charger the message 'Unauthorized chargeer' was displayed. Tried 4 different chargers, no difference. Turned phone off then on again, no difference. Turned off and took out battery and replaced, still 'Unauthorized Charge'. Tried changing battery with husbands phone and still unable to charge. It must be the phone! Was able to remove battery, charge it on my husbands phone (same kind of phone) and replace it in my phone with a full charge.

diquanda It could be your charger or the charging port. I would take the phone to a Verizon store to have it looked at. Have them try a Motorola original charger.

Our phones in the US are sold with chargers so I assume your phone was sold to you used?

Do you mean SIM or SD card? Your phone should work without SD card. Is your phone able to make calls? If not I would contact Virgin Mobile.

You can perform a reset by going to settings > privacy > data reset.

        Sony vaio PCG-7142L keeps freezing

Can check if the battery is low ... or is not (or cannot) holding a good charge ... when you unplug it (from the charger) ... when this happens ?

If that is the case, it may "freeze" while it is busy trying to store the contents of your memory before it shuts down (or hibernates). Does it shut down (or goes into hibernate if you let it continue to "freeze") for a while ? If so, then it's your battery.

If the battery doesn't hold a good charge, the laptop will run only a short time (while unplugged) before it has to shut down due to low battery. And if this is the case, consider getting a replacement (new) battery. And follow the initial charging instructions (for a new battery) to lengthen the life of the battery.

If the phone was totally dead before it refused to charge initially, then the refusal to charge is due to the fact that there was no residual charge left to bring it to a charge, because the battery completely died.
To fix it, kick start the charging process.
Remove the battery, and using a universal charger (desktop charger) charge the battery for say 10 minutes, before re- inserting the battery to the phone and continuing with the normal charging process.
If this does not work out, then problem is with the charging port. It has to be replaced. This can be done by nearby local phone repairers.
        Hope it helps?

        Phone dies quickly after charging

It would be helpful to know just how quickly the battery is going flat, and I'm assuming there's no history of the phone having been damaged, but... Try swapping the battery for one from a friend's phone. If that cures the problem, you need to buy a new battery (they don't last forever). Otherwise, try charging the battery fully in a friend's phone using their charger, then see how long it lasts. If this lasts much longer, the problem is that the phone/charger combination isn't charging the battery properly. Mix and match chargers and handsets (mark which are yours before you start, or you will get mixed up) to identify where the problem lies. If the battery isn't old and tired, and the phone is charging it properly, then the problem must be that the phone is drawing excessive current. This could be because you've got it set up to do some power-hungry thing (backlight continuously on, playing MP3s or FM, promiscuously Bluetoothing or IR communicating, etc). Shut down all the functions you don't actually need at the time and see if that makes any different. Once you've eliminated all those, you're left with the liklihood that the phone has a fault which is making it draw excess current. Not good news, but at least you've eliminated all the other possibilities. A.
