When cooking Pizza at 220c the top burns-even though the element is on the top and the pizza in the bottom third of the oven, and the base is uncooked - this also takes 30 minutes to cook?

you are using the broiler to cook it,the upper element is the broiler, the lower one is for the oven, turn on the oven so that the bottom element is on,if it doesnt work, then that is the problem

What does a broil pan do

The broil pan is used to broil meats such as steak or chops. the top part has slots that allow the grease to run into the lower part. they are usually under the burner in the lower door. but some ovens have the broil element in the oven proper. then the pan should be placed within a few inches of the broil element. You should monitor the cooking process because the broiler heats the food very quickly and could burn very fast.

I have a Tricity Bendix Built in oven TBS749. I have problems when baking as previously tried and tested recipes do not bake properly with burning on the top but the inside not cooked. I had noticed that...

Have you tried to turn the oven on to preheat and observe that the upper and lower heating elements alternately go on and off? Could be that 1 of your elements is burnt out and need replaced.

I have recently purchased a Neff double oven UI722 and am experienncing difficulty with the heat control. Most things I cook seem to burn either at the sides or bottom or both . Can you help in any way...

It can be difficult to 'acclimatise' to a new oven particularly if it is a fan oven as cooking times are usually shorter.

Temperature distribution is also different so if you are following your normal cooking temp and time you may need to adjust these so as not to overcook.

Try a few set recipes from the hand book using the set times and temperatures to see if that makes any difference.

Good Luck

How to adjust the toasting time on the preprogram

your better off going back to the factory setting. Call turbo chef but here you go this is how you re-program the thing. Remember i took the time to give you these directions. Please take the time to leave a review

PROGRAMMING
Edit Mode
The EDIT MODE enables the operator to manually alter
recipes and the cook cavity temperature (CCSP).
To access EDIT MODE:
1. Simultaneously press the UP and DOWN keys.
2. When prompted, enter the access code “9” and
then press the ENTER key.

Altering a Recipe
Most NGC (Tornado) oven models contain 128
unique recipes. The display shows two (2) pages each
with eight (8) recipe groups. Each recipe group contains
eight (8) recipes. See Figures 11 and 12.
To alter a recipe:
1. Enter the EDIT MODE (see page 16).
2. Enter the access code “9” and set the CCSP. The
screen displays the first set of eight (8) recipe
groups. To access the second set of eight (8)
recipe groups, press either the UP or DOWN key.
3. Select the recipe group that contains the individual
recipe you wish to alter. Select the recipe you
wish to alter by pressing the soft key corresponding
to the recipe item. Figures 11 and 12.
4. Use the UP and DOWN keys to navigate through
the recipe settings. Use the keypad and ENTER key
to alter any of the following three (3) parameters
(see Figure 13):
a. Cook time
Total duration of the cook cycle. Enter the
desired time and press ENTER.
b. IR element temperature (IRSP)
The temperature the lower radiant element
will maintain during the entire cook cycle.
Valid temperatures are between 500ºF (260ºC)
and 1150ºF (621ºC).
c. Events 1…6
Use the keypad and ENTER key to enter values
for % TIME, % AIR, and % WAV.
o Sum of % TIME for all events must = 100.
The operating system will not allow a
combination of events not equal to 100%.
o The % AIR parameter is valid between 10
and 100%.
o The % WAV (microwave) parameter is valid
between 0 and 100%.
5. After making changes, test the recipe by
pressing the TEST soft key. Once the oven has
warmed to the CC set point, press the TEST
soft key again to begin the test cook.
6. Once satisfied with the recipe, press SAVE to
permanently store changes.
7. Press the BACK key until exited from EDIT MODE.

My oven burns everything.

Use a 'oven thermometer' in the oven and determine the 'actual temperature' in the oven. Your knob setting is off (not calibrated) and the oven is hotter than the control knob setting.

I have to cook way longer than recipe says.

This is usually caused by a weak oven ignitor. As they age, they seem to perform less effectively. Sometimes the oven will take several minutes to ignite the first time, and even worse on subsequent ignition cycles, resulting in overall low oven temp and poor baking. Replace the oven ignitor. Note, if you have a self clean gas oven, the ignitors are usually the same part number for the bake and broil, so you can try moving the broil ignitor (which is generally used much less than the bake ignitor) to the bake burner if you want to test it out before buying a replacement ignitor.
