Question about Kitchen Appliances - Others

1 Answer

I want to obtain a coal effect fitting for a Dimplex LYM 28E electric fire but am not sure whether mine is an early or late model. Is there a difference between the two models in respect of the coal effect and is there an identifying mark to determine which model it is. Thanks

Dimplex dakota heater is working but flame effect is not its led I think not bulbs.

Says you can turn it on and off? Did you knock the switch?

Can I operate the flame effect on the fire without the heat?
All our Optiflame and Opti-myst fires can be operated on a flame-effect only setting, as can the flickering flame effect on our freestanding bar fires.

Is the flame effect expensive to run?
No, to run the flame effect involves powering light bulbs and a small electric motor and in most cases costs no more than a couple of pence an hour. Some of our fires have LED lamps fitted which are even more energy efficient.

Some have bulbs, some have LED.
Example calculations:
Using UK standard average price of electricity of 14p/kWh (source: Energy Saving Trust Feb 2015)
Optiflame LED flame effect only (eg Danesbury) = 0.1p every hour
Optiflame conventional bulb, effect only (eg Cheriton) = 2p every hour
Opti-myst, flame effect only (eg Oakhurst) = 3p every hour
Opti-V single screen = 0.5p every hour
2kW fan heater, on constantly (no thermostat) = 28p every hour

Optiflame lightbulbs for sale. Remove the coals and check for bulbs.

Fire was working fine, then flame effect stopped. Heater still works on both settings, but no flame effect. Tried new bulbs, but still no flame effects, any ideas?

If it is not the bulbs, it is often a melted switch or circuit board.

Changing bulb in dimplex cht20 fire

Yes this is very easy on the cheriton range of fires.... remove the coal, then remove two screws from the front of the coal holder... the whole brass coal holder will pull away from the machine. The bulbs (two of them) are located directly behind this, just behind the rotisserie flame effect. The flame effect can be pulled out of its holder to access the bulbs.

Can I change my Dimplex SHB20 from coal to logs

Probably not. The flame configuration is different from one model to another, as is the coal and log holder. But, if you'd like to confirm this Contact Dimplex USA Customer Support 800-668-6663 or their technical Specialist 888-346-7539.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

The plastic ember bed lifts out with a little effort. To assist you, I have included a link to your Bradford model Owners manual that you can download and print for future reference.

I can't imagine that this wouldbe too hard. But I haven't had experiance with this model. Check for any removeable doors or parts that will allow you to get to the inside of the heater. Make sure it is unplugged before doing anything!

Either go to: www.dimplex.com or call their number: 1-800-668-6663 ext : 358 They are very helpful! They can help you ...

How to replace fire bulb for Dimplex HTN20

I wanted an answer to this too. It was hard to find, but here we go.
Get hold of a torch, and look closely at the decorative surround at the bottom of the fire. There are two screws hidden in there, on each side! See below:

Unscrew these, and you can take the front off, and get at the bulbs.

For information, the fire takes two screw in bulbs, described as 240V – 60W E14 SES Clear Candle Lamps.
Hope this helps.

I have the dimplex dancing fire W..20 and I've just managed to change the bulbs!!!! Take the coals out and turn the fire upside down. In the bottom you can get your hand in the middle and unscrew the bulbs. There are two and they face each other. It's a real pain and a large mans hand won't fit. You meed two 60watt candle small screw to replace them. hope this helps.
