The Sidekick II battery isn't meant to be replaceable. But you can get to it and replace it , it just takes some work!

The drill suddenly just stopped working in the middle of the job - the battery is good but it doesn't seem to be getting any juice the worklight will not even come on.

If you can to take apart the drills, put the battery directly to the motor. If it is turning the , probably the switch is faulty. If it is a controlable speed drill, check the FET transistor. I recently replaced the FET in a Ryobi drill. Cost $5 and workin glik ebrand new.

This particular model is known to be prone to static electricity.
You may try first to reset the radio by taking all the power sources off, including AC power, the D batteries, and the AA batteries. Leave it without any power for a day (at least 12 hours, but 24 hours would be better).
This would cause a processor reset. Plug the power sources after 24 hours and check it out.
If that doesn't bring it back to life, then you may have to open it and do some more involved work (if you are handy with soldering and replacing electronic parts).
Usually the sensitive part that gets fried by static electricity and causes your issue is the Q1 transistor, which is a field effect transistor (FET).
Most likely your FET Q1 is a Sony product which maybe labeled as 2SK152. It's out of production, but you may find it at some major electronics outlets, such as Mouser Electronics.
There should be some equivalent FET out somewhere (RadioShack, perhaps?), if this particular one is not found.
Replacing the FET should be an easy job after you have opened the cover (5 screws), and unscrewed the board.
Just be careful not to cause further damage by static electricity from your body (wear a grounded static discharge strap), and be very careful handling the board.
Best of luck, and hopefully you will comment here if this has helped you resolve this issue.

Map light fuse on 2008 f 350????

The interior map lamps are powered buy the battery saver relay ( non serviceable relay ) Which is powered by Fuse #25 ( cab fuse panel ).
This is for the engine compartment and illuminated vanity lamps, as well as the map lights.

The FET ( Field-Effect Transistor ) shows the fuse #9 also on it. ( marked interior lighting ), which power the interior lamps ( door / switch ).

Could be a few things if both those fuses are OK.

1. The map / interior lamp combos are usually dual element bulbs, which means if the interior lamps ( door or dimer switch on headlamp panel ) are OK, it could still be a burn out bulb.

2. The FET is having an issue from a dead short ( blown bulb or dead short to ground ). Until the short is correct, the FET will not turn back on.

Start with checking Fuse #9 ( marked as Fuse #8 in the diagram, but that shows headlamp ), which is to the interior lamps, and drives 1 side of the FET.
