Question about Garden

1 Answer

Have a troy bilt trimmer that starts fine but will die when you try to use it. I have put new gas and spark plug in it and cleaned the air filter. It acts like it's vapor lock. I use regular unleaded gas, no alcohol.

If your gas is older than 30 days, go out and mix up some fresh gas mixture before going any further. Other wise it sounds like the carburetor needs rebuilding or adjusting.
Note: There may be alcohol in your gas and you may not know it.

I have a Troy Bilt trimmer model TB675EC...4 cycle engine. Problem that has arisen is that it dies at high speed and under load. Starts up and runs at idle well.

Fuel starved, carb should have an idle adjustment which sounds like it is fine. Look for the second adjustment

I GOT TROY BILT TB490 TRIMMER AND IT DIE WHEN I INGAUGE BLADES

Sounds like a tune up is in order.

start with simple stuff, spark plug clean and not cracked or damaged on ceramic (white area). Clean or replace the air filter. Make sure you have FRESH fuel (oil if mixed) not stuff that has been in it since last summer.

If it still wont respond, look at fuel lines/fuel primer bulb for cracks.
Then look at Carburetor, might need to cleaned.

Troy Bilt edger dies as soon as its under a load--like edging my driveway.

The only real explanation for this is that a tiny piece of dirt has gotten into one of the tiny fuel jets. Remove the carb and blow it out thoroughly with compressed air.

Troy Bilt Rear tine tiller model 643 Bronco, won't start,it ran out of gas, put in new gas and it started but wouldn't stay running. Put in new spark plugs, cleaned filters, changed out gas, still won't...

did it run out of gas when you added gas it could be that the fuel line has plugged up with something from the bottom of the tank take the fuel line off and try blowing threw it and take a air hose and blow out the carb and carb cleaner

Will cleaning my Troy-Bilt TB25CS carburetor heal it?

Since the air from the air filter does not go through the carb, the carb cleaner will not either. If you remove the carb and spry all of it that you can get to, you may get the plug. If you were to open the carb and go through it and clean it you would need to get new gaskets and maybe that will do the job. You may be able to adjust the carb. There is a "hi" and "low" setting. Try adjusting the "hi"...Lee

Troy-Bilt TB75SS 31cc string trimmer dies when given throttle.

Your carburetor needs cleaned. Disassemble carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. Make sure that the small screen is free of debris. Use a Den Tek Brush,
(http://www.dentek.com/shop.php?target=products&product_id=7), to clean the small portals in the carb. Reassemble and start. If this doesn't work for you then you will have to buy a carb. kit and replace all appropriate parts. If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Trimmer will not start.

Yes. Your carbeurator is gummed up. Get some new gasoiline and add some carbeurator cleaner to it, usually one ounce per gallon. Dump the fuel u have in there and put in the new fuel.

Also, get some spray carb. cleaner, remove the air filter and put a couple of squirts into the air intake chamber. Then start it.

Finally if it still won't start, use a squirt of starter fluid to get things going and get the carbeurator cleaning into the system.

Troy-Bilt Chipper Shredder won't start

It takes good gas, good spark, and good air for a gasoline engine to run well. The next thing I would do is put a new air filter in it.
