Thats a two man job that you are trying to do yourself. The top of the washer has to be removed to replace the valve. Get some help to remove the dryer from the top.
u do not remove cabinet on this model look @ whirlpool name on washer front . pry this off there is a 1/4 inch head screw there remove this pull top foward and raise caution there may b hoses to disconect I have not worked on this model for long time
first you remove the cap on top of the agitator then you remove the inner cap then you use a long extension with a 7/16 socket to remove the bolt the agitator will pull right up
the timer box or the whole washing cabinet cover? the timer box is removed via 2 screws in the rear of the plastic end caps and carefully wiggling it foward very gently then it should tip back... if you want the cabinet removed under the timer box is 2 metal snaps that can be removed to take off the outter cabinet.. good luck
you don't remove the 2 screws on rear of console lift and roll console back remove 2 brass colored clips on eack corner remove lid switch plug pull cabinet forward and off
most likely just clutch ck for oil or water on it if oil most likely top seal gearcase is leaking ..remove agitator cap remove bolt in middle of agitator ..remove console screws remove clips under console holding cabinet on remove cabinet ..lean washer back remove pump then motor remove the 3 bolts holding gearcase in remove gearcase clutch is silver disk on top of gearcase with band inside ..band is actual clutch may try cleaning it but not hopeful about it being a permanet fix
