If you are using NON epson ink catridges? This is most likely your problem. I would recommend that you use only Epson products for your Epson printer. These "made in China" inks can ruin printers fast. If you are using only epson cartridges and this is still the case? You may have worn your printer out.

Hope this helps

My printer, epson stylus R230, shows this message ' Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your printer documentation. ' How can I solve this problem?

You need to reset your printer. Google search for "indoreset for r230", that is the program that you can use to reset your printer. Or you can use the SSC Service Utility, just search for it in the net. You particularly need to reset the waste ink pad counter.

After you reset your printer, check the back of your r230, you will see there a small access cover with a screw. Unscrew it. Take a look inside and you will see a tube connected to the waste ink tank, try to disconnect it from the waste ink tank, carefully pulling it out the access window. Do not force it out completely, you will be able to pull out only about an inch of the tube. When the tube is out, get another tube (silicon or plastic) around 6 inches long would do (12 inches will be fine)that would fit in that tube you've just pulled out, then get an empty plastic bottle with a cover, puncture a hole in the cover and put the other end of the tube in that hole, that plastic bottle will be your new waste ink tank. You are doing all these so you don't have to dismantle your printer to remove and replace the waste ink pads inside.

After doing all these you can now use your printer again. You just need to empty the plastic bottle regularly. And when the time comes to reset your printer again, just use the program again and that's it.

Epson RX700 printer, end of service life message

This usually means that the waste ink absorbers are full. If your printer is under warranty, you can get them dealt with and the counter reset at an Epson Customer Care center. If your printer is out of warranty, you should consider if it is worth the fix. You can get this done by Epson or an independent printer repair person. (They might sell the parts for a dyi job.)

Once that is done, you can get a reset utility from the following URL: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp . If you execute the reset without the pad replacement, you will get ink smearing on your documents after a while.

I hope this helps.

Reset the waste ink counter!
Assuming you have completed your modification you can reset your printers waste counter using this method (I did this and it worked on the CX6400) can't guarantee it works on all)
1. You will see big button on your printer like power on (this is on the left
2. side), black & white photocopy, color photocopy, and then the stop button (these are on the right side).
3. first turn off your printer
4. push the b/w + color + stop buttons together and hold
5. push the power on button and hold (so you'll now be holding down 4 buttons together)
6. Don't release all the buttons until you see the light indicator is blinking and then a message display on the lcd
7. release all the buttons
8. push the color button (once)
9. turn off the printer
10. turn it on again
After this one may need to reload the printer driver and locate the printer!
