Re: new batteries

S630 and all samsung S series cameras have battery type settings under SET UP 2.

setting camera in correct battery type:
-click on Menu button
-select options using left/right, up/down button
-select Set up 2
-Select Battery type
-Select Alkaline for non-rechargable
or Ni-MH for rechargable
-click OK button

try this option, this generally works.

Re: new batteries

This happened to my Samsung S630. I tried new batteries, rechargables, and even the camera batteries everyone has been talking about. Then I found that all I had to do was put some pressure around the lense as I turned the power on. That made the lense come out like it should and the camera has been working fine ever since.

I had a problem like this also, nd then i was told to buy rechargable i guess you should invest in the rechargeable batteries!

Re: new batteries

I had a probleme like this... When the lens are in the proper offline position, remove the little -something- that covers the batteries and the memory, before the lens start moving again: Out of power, and everything in place. Put the batteries back and turn it on: worked for me twice

My olympus tg 310 is stuck with the lens open and won't come on at all even when a fresh battery is installed

If the camera is within warranty, return it to where you bought it. Common fault with a few different brands, to do with a lens open sensor within the lens assembly itself. Maybe allow the camera to dischage without the battery for a few hours and see does it power on with a new battery. Also chack the battery, if it has bubbled it a dud, and check the battery contacts within the battery compartment.

Camera lens stuck!

Hello Friend,
First i would let you know that the Brand Vivitar is one of low quality cameras, it's sad but it's true.
Now regarding the issue that you have with the lens, you probably drop it because this the only way to have the lens stuck. but anyway, to repair it it will cost you more than a new one. and again i suggest to buy a branded camera like Canon,Sony,Nikon,Panasonic ... these are top quality cameras and you will not have any problem for life except if you drop it ;)
Best Regards,

The lens does not pop out when you turn it on. Making a clicking noise sounds like it is stuck. Turns the camera off. On the screen it says lens error115,0,0,2129

Here are the steps:

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged

battery/batteries into your camera.

2. Clean the battery contacts.

a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from

your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft,

clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera

3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.

If issue persists, call 1.800.235.6325 for repair.

Camera lens stuck

The lens is stuck... you still have warranty....

Most simple answer is to get it back to the vendor? and claim the warranty?

I just dropped mine last night and the lens got in this funny bent position, so I popped it back to where its suppose to be. Now the camera turns on and off without the low battery signal but the lens doesn't retract or do anything by itself anymore. I can hear the little motor running that retracts the lens, but the lens itself doesn't actually move when I hear the little noises. So now, I have a wonderful camera with the lens stuck out. I should state that I have the i631. It's just like the i733 but one megapixel smaller. I've the receipt from the retailer that I bought it from so I'm hoping polaroid will at least look at it. I bought it back in June! It's only 4 to 5 months old!

I'm not sure if this will work for all of you, but try plugging it into your computer. When I had this issue for no apparent reason, plugging it into my computer seemed to awaken my camera out of the protective sleep mode that it was in. Sadly, it's not working for me this time.:-(

Lens stuck open

In a nutshell, this error happens when the lens gets stuck while trying to extend and comes slightly out of alignment. Particularly if it's been dropped while open. The lens gets stuck in the extended position, and refuses to move either to focus the lens or to retract when powered off.

If your camera is still under warranty, the best thing you can do have Polaroid should fix it. If your camera is out of warranty, or if Polaroid refuses to repair it for free, the one thing you can try is to If you gently, and I do mean GENTLY push against the lens with the PALM of your hand as you turn it on, it may cause it to depress back into the camera. If that doesn't work, and you can't reset it or turn it on/off several times, then you may have to send it in for a repair estimate anyway.

Camera will not power up correctly

Again the same old compact camera zoom lens problems - sand in lens, stuck AF motor, chewed up plastic only have to look at them wrong and they will die... (A very cynical camera repairer that has tried to repair these damn things soo often!!) Even cameras with internal lenses like the old Nikon 950/990/4500 still have troubles with stuck motors and broken lens parts. I despair - these things are just made to last the guarantee out (if that long) and die horribly afterwards!!

The lens is stuck out

My daughter just had this problem with her camera. The camera was off with the lens barrel extended. When I looked at it closely, I noticed that the inner part of the lens barrel was at a slight angle to the camera. I pushed firmly on the low side of the inner part of the barrel, and it popped the rest of the way out. Camera works fine now. Good luck!

Cuts on then back off

Sound like it was dropped and somone lied about it. Mine got dropped and it behaves in a similar fashon...something about a plastic pin that hold the parts of the telephoto lens together.I had a computer wonk guy lok at mine andit is the little pin on the bottom of the lens assembly inside the ring that snaps on and off. Mine would work if you help up on te bottom of the lens but the it stopped again...lotsa luck
