How many speakers do you have hooked-up to the right channel? More than one? If so, be sure to know the ohm rating and the ohm load of you amp. Home hi-fi systems are not as forgiving as pro audio amplifiers when over-driving them. For instance, if you home hi-fi amps says that it's rated at 100w @ 8ohms, you better stick to a speaker with an 8 ohm rating where a pro audio amp can safely drop to 4ohms by doubling the speakers on the amp channel. Be sure that if you aren't doing what I just described that your amp has plenty of air flow, keeping it as cool as possible would help. The amp can get warm from both of these scenarios especially if the amp is working harder due to extraneous loads.

Most likely a loose connection/dry joint inside

Check all exterior connections first.

If amp has pre out power in connections the try driving another amp from pre out stage.
Try driving power in stage from another source.
Swap round inputs to check preamp section
Always start at low volume, check sound is ok at low the make it loud.

Write down results of all tests, it will save time and money at the repair shop

I would:
1- First make sure you are properly testing using a reliable source, such as a CD Player or itunes. 2- Make sure the Listening Preset is not on Dolby Pro Logic. Make sure it is on Stereo mode and see if the problem persists.
What usually happens is that when listening to 2ch (Left and Right) Audio such as Television or Music and Dolby Pro Logic is on as a preset, Dolby Pro Logic analyzes both Stereo tracks, tries to detect the voices (center channel), ambient sounds (surround and fronts) and processes the signals into a 5.1 or 6.1 System. You tend to get a fading effect when Dolby Pro Logic is selected and listening to an old VHS, DVD or even music.
To remove a preset, make sure you select the Stereo button at the bottom left of the remote to pan through the options.
Hope this helps

I would not recomend disconnecting the fans. They might be running to keep a certain heat sensitive (and perhaps expensive) part cool. However it could be the case that the fan speed control circuit has developed a fault, therefore the fans are running too fast.

Marshall MG50 DFX, the volume knob OD channel crackles

Either the control is damaged (happens if they get hit) or it is possible the circuit board it is mounted on has broken solder OR worse, a crack near the control. The unit will require servicing. Parts are readily available.

High pitched squeal when the input jack is used.

Sounds like your master volume is turned up too much. The channel volume will make the squealing go away(caused by high gain and humbuckers). The best thing to do is dial in your favorite presets and change the channel volume to the correct level with the master volume where you usually keep it. I use my Spider Valve at master volume at about noon and the channel volume between nine o'clock and noon. Let me know if this does not solve the problem......
