Question about Casio Parts Cash Register PC Desktop
I appreciate your support Chris. So far, I've not been successful. To answer your question, yes I did allocate memory in the memory allocation in file 16, 40, 70, 71, 76 before...no issue there. I've re-check the initialization file again 32500 to make sure that it's setup for scanning and not check tracking...no issue there. The dealers manual indicates odd parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit. These are the same settings for COM1 and I can communicate and transfer files both ways just fine using CV10 and my PC...so no issue there. I'm still not sure about the flow control setting on the Cipher, because it has four options, but I'm not worried about this because I always try all four options with every other thing I try, so I don't think it's the flow control. I am reading the EAN13 barcodes just fine and can see the correct numbers coming up in hyperterminal; I've been trying everything today with only the 13 barcode numbers per your last reply...no E or 13, etc. I've now tried all combinations for 0298 with 12000, 02000, etc.
Regarding the Cipher scanner....I've spent tons of time with this. It came with an excellent user manual, a seperate manual with printed barcodes, and a software package to configure the scanner. Basically, the software is identical to the printed barcodes, but is easier and faster to use, so I configure it with the software via RS232. This works fine every time, and I confirm the changes every time with hyperterminal.
Every time I make a change to the TE2200, I clear the flags. I don't have any error codes either.
I have entered the PLU codes into the TE2200, and can recall them manually by entering the number and pressing OBR...so no issue there.
I would really like to get this working as every day is a delay for my shop. I've called Casio but they blew me off and said it was a dealer problem. I've contacted the dealer and they can't help. I've contacted Cipher but no response and nothing on their website. I've sent an email to firstname.lastname@example.org but the email bounced.
What can I do to get this thing working?

Jeff I feel your pain. I have never use a Cipher scanner, I stick with the well known brands like metrologic. I see them for about 385 each. I know you can get one for less used or online. When I set up the scanner I usually use the booklet and scan the codes into the scanner itself. Take 20 seconds or less. You probably did that but just checking. My answer is at this point and since its not in my shop, is, Metologic. Your casio's com2 is where the scanner should be and 298 should be 12000. I understand you can get it to work with hyperterminal but, that in essence means that the scanner works but not necessarily with the settings. These kind of issues are 99% of the time in the settings. The list I sent on the last message was the barcodes used to program the scanner. you know expand ean13 etc. that is where i still feel it lies.
Im doing my best I may have to set up my own scanner on my 2400 and see how it works.
