Casio TE2200 Cipher 1000 CCD RS232 scanner still not working

I appreciate your support Chris. So far, I've not been successful. To answer your question, yes I did allocate memory in the memory allocation in file 16, 40, 70, 71, 76 issue there. I've re-check the initialization file again 32500 to make sure that it's setup for scanning and not check issue there. The dealers manual indicates odd parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit. These are the same settings for COM1 and I can communicate and transfer files both ways just fine using CV10 and my no issue there. I'm still not sure about the flow control setting on the Cipher, because it has four options, but I'm not worried about this because I always try all four options with every other thing I try, so I don't think it's the flow control. I am reading the EAN13 barcodes just fine and can see the correct numbers coming up in hyperterminal; I've been trying everything today with only the 13 barcode numbers per your last E or 13, etc. I've now tried all combinations for 0298 with 12000, 02000, etc.

Regarding the Cipher scanner....I've spent tons of time with this. It came with an excellent user manual, a seperate manual with printed barcodes, and a software package to configure the scanner. Basically, the software is identical to the printed barcodes, but is easier and faster to use, so I configure it with the software via RS232. This works fine every time, and I confirm the changes every time with hyperterminal.

Every time I make a change to the TE2200, I clear the flags. I don't have any error codes either.

I have entered the PLU codes into the TE2200, and can recall them manually by entering the number and pressing no issue there.

I would really like to get this working as every day is a delay for my shop. I've called Casio but they blew me off and said it was a dealer problem. I've contacted the dealer and they can't help. I've contacted Cipher but no response and nothing on their website. I've sent an email to but the email bounced.

What can I do to get this thing working?

Jeff I feel your pain. I have never use a Cipher scanner, I stick with the well known brands like metrologic. I see them for about 385 each. I know you can get one for less used or online. When I set up the scanner I usually use the booklet and scan the codes into the scanner itself. Take 20 seconds or less. You probably did that but just checking. My answer is at this point and since its not in my shop, is, Metologic. Your casio's com2 is where the scanner should be and 298 should be 12000. I understand you can get it to work with hyperterminal but, that in essence means that the scanner works but not necessarily with the settings. These kind of issues are 99% of the time in the settings. The list I sent on the last message was the barcodes used to program the scanner. you know expand ean13 etc. that is where i still feel it lies.
Im doing my best I may have to set up my own scanner on my 2400 and see how it works.

No. you have the wrong scanner interface. The initial setup for scanners can be tricky also. It is supposed to be set by the dealer with special service bar codes to sync the scanner with register. If you bought it from a dealer or re-seller, you should see if they have an RS232 scanner and casio settings. They are not plug and go.

I have a Casio TE2200 that has pre-programmed PLU names. I have tried to rename them, but it doesn't seem to carry through. How do you rename the PLUs? Also I accidently renames the address code...

You should normally be able to program all PLUs on thekeyboard as long as they have been setup.

Turn key to Program mode.

Type new name
00 (double zero button)
Press a PLU to set the name

I have a Cipherlab scanner 8001, when i connect it to a linux computer, it doesnt download it gives me a Time out error, but when i connect a Cipher scanner 711 to the same COM port it works. Please advice...

OK,you indicated COM1 serial port is working on the a Cipher scanner 711.
Please check the communication setting on the Cipher scanner 711.
The most popular setting are
9600 bps 8 bits N for no parity check and 1 for check bit.
Short for as
9600 8 N 1
Check the setting on the Cipher scanner 711 communication speed and make set the Cipherlab scanner 8001 to the same rate.
MAKE SURE YOU RE-BOOT the Cipherlab scanner 8001 before re-try.

Casio TE2200 register with no power

It may have had a lock up. See if there is a tiny button next to the ports (sockets) on the side (probably under a flap). Leave key in REG mode with power on. Press tiny button for 2 seconds. Let go. If machine powers up, then it has had a lock up. DO NOT PUSH ANYTHING IF MACHINE COMES BACK ON OR YOU MAY LOSE ALL PROGRAMMING. Message me straight back and I'll tell you what to do next.

Casio TE2200 with Cipher 1000 Barcode scanner still not working

I have set up the casio 7000 to use a metrologic orbit scanner. The scanner program is most important. I don't know what Cipher uses, but I think that is where your problem is. I will do some more research and get back to you.
The 9789745002500 is correct you will use a 13 digit number

Casio TE-2200 Scanner does not work

Hi Jeff,
1. To know whether scanner is doing ok with TE2200: After u do the flag clear the R/J printer will print a piece of paper , if u didn't see "02-98 5803" at the bottom of the receipt, that means TE2200 can detect the scanner correctly

2. For the Graphic Logo :
2.1 make sure u have ur picture in the size of = 384x168 pixel, and it have to be in "bmp" format.
2.2 Key turn to PGM
2.3 press 5 sub
2.4 Press [4] [7] Sub
2.5 press [1] [6] [8] CA Sub
2.6 Use Casio CV-10 software to send the logo to TE-2200

Extra zero

The default setting for this scanner is EAN13 enabled. This means that all 12 character barcodes will be changed to 13 characters by adding a zero in front.
How to Disable:

Open the manual that came with the scanner (it's available to download on the Cipherlab web page if you don't have it).
Find the UPCA Parameters barcodes (currently page 29). The next heading down is Convert to EAN13. You will see the disable and enable barcodes.

1) Scan Enter Setup Barcode (on practically every page of the manual at the bottom). The scanner will beep 6 times.
2) Scan the Convert to EAN13 Disable barcode. The scanner will beep once.
3) Scan the Update barcode at the bottom of the same page.

Your scanner should now read both 12 and 13 character barcodes correctly.
