Question about Acer Aspire 3000 Notebook

1 Answer

Freaking out computer just "freaks out" occasionaly sometimes like when im using it. Like i'll be typing somthing and the little 'typing line' would just jump back where the crusor is sitting and i would start typing at that point. And then sometimes it like almost freezes and then like every page that i had opened in the last 5 mins would start popping back up and closing and then screen would start flashing...and the crusor would start flashing and i would eventualy have to 'ctrl, alt, del' it and restart the computer to fix it. And I would lose everything that I was working on at that moment. Its really annoying. I called the customer support line and they sent me some 'recovery disks' to run on it, but im kinda skeptical about doing that because then i'll lose EVERYTHING on it, and the computer will go back to its orginal configuration like it was when it came from the manufacturer. Is there any other option to fix this problem or is this the only option i have?? Please advise.. Thanks.

Re: freaking out

Will i suggest to reformat your computer and installed the windows again to fix that problem...i think your computer will attack the virus that will create damage from the registry...if you always restart your computer the tendency is will create damage of the hard disk..

Hi - my laptop (toshiba L300, model no. PSLB0A-02M027) just freaked out on me - first it went BEEEP then froze, and now it reckons that 'no audio output device installed' so no noises from laptop, also no...

You should visit toshiba's online website to check to see if it can be fixed under warranty (it might still have warranty life available.) If it is out of warranty, you can try and do a restore to an earlier time using the restore feature under help and support. Just go to Start - help and support and type in the search box backup and restore and just follow the directions listed there.
Hope this helps.

If warranty - call it in. Otherwise it sounds like a classic case of bad ram. Find a friend with similar ram in his/her laptop and do a test swap to see if symptoms repeat. Then replace the ram. Far more common in HP's then Toshiba, but it happens for no reason. Basically it's a page in or out error with the ram causing windows to "freak out".
You can get a good selection of ram from or

actually most recover disks give options so that it can fix problems like install drivers without wiping the drive and starting over you just have to get the command codes for this from the manufacturer. especially if its windows by microsoft.
