Hi,
With the car in park also, does the engine idle steady, or does it seem to rev up and down etc. ?
If this is the case, you may have an issue with the throttle positioning sensor.
Hope this helps...

Diagnois ford territory engine mount vibration

u can do this 2 ways.tranny mounts, have someone get in the car, holdbreak, put in gear, slightly ascelarate the throttle and watch the engine .in drive engine will travel forward and vise versa in reverse.believe me, if u have any bad u will think the motor is tryin to jump out. upper mount check/ 9 out of 10 times,it feels like u are in a popcorn machine when u come to a complete stop ildeing in gear, take a small floorjack and place it under the oilpan again have someone in the car . start and put in gear, just let it idle, and slightly raise just the motor and see if the vibration goes away ./ note,be sure to have a small piece of wood between jack an oilpan.

Holden Astra automatic 1.8 TS 2000 model When car is in Drive and you come to a stop, when accelerating to move again, the car does not go into gear straight away (feels like it's in neutral). After...

Yeah, put some transmission fluid in it. With car in park and running, pull the transmission dipstick and see where the fluid is on the dipstick. Add accordingly.

Would broken motor mounts do this as well at about 50 mph..?? i know when the van is put in gear the motor "kick"s or jumps to say.

Definitely broken motor mount(s). Don't drive it far especially if you're feeling it at highway speeds because engine is actually changing position which can damage transmission and drive train by twisting on drive train angles

My 87 Mazda B2000 has been parked down hill for 3 months. Now the motor starts but I cannot put it in any gear with the motor on. The stick shift will move into gears with the engine off.

sounds like the clutch has corroded somewhat.
does it feel like the clutch has some pressure?
try putting it in gear, depress the clutch, and then see if it will start in gear( be carefull it may jump forward)
this might free the clutch.
also the clutch fluid may have drained or have an air bubble, depressing the clutch many times quickly may self bleed the air out, or bleed some new fluid through it. make sure to top up the fluid.

Was wonedrin if i had a bad motor mount or trans mount? had some one change trans but they didnt finish the job and had to put it back in by myself everything works but it jumps out of the upper gears now...

Without looking, Id say you have a transverse mount engine (sideways) with three main mounting points. One on either side of motor and one on the transmission end. Its also possible you have some sort of mounting on the north end end of the motor. In any case, the whole affair sits in the engine compartment like in a cradle....so, the transmission mount is every bit as important as the rest of the mounts, because all are needed to hold it into place properly. If the car is jumping out of gear, that could become hazardous in traffic. Get it looked at ASAP.

Broken Motor Mount or Motor Mount Bolt

to check for a bad motor mount u need 2 people for this. Have the car running put it into gear with your foot pressed firmly on the brake u don't want to run your buddy over. Give it some gas in the motor is jumping around alot like 6 inches in any direction you have a broken motor mount. Which way the engine jumps will let u know which one is bad. Try this test in reverse gear to.
