i just noticed that you told me to uninstall my PCMCIA drive. is that what you meant or did you mean the wireless lan pci card?

Have you tried going through the uninstall process and then reinstall the card fresh?

Try uninstalling your pcmcia drive in device manager and then restart the laptop and let windows reinstall it. With the pci wifi card out of the slot of course. Then once the laptop is started back up and the slot is reinstalled by windows reinsert your wifi card and reload the proper driver.
Good Luck.

FUJITSU LIFEBOOK S6010 - INTERSIL PRISM PCI WIFI CARD - WPA LAN

Seems like you have a pretty old laptop. I'm guessing its got a wireless B card installed internally. And wireless B supports WEP most of the time. And if you're lucky the manufacturer of that wireless card may have an update to patch your card so that it will see WAP. Otherwise you can replace that internal card or get a usb / PCMCIA wireless card that supports at least wireless G standard.

Check Device manager to see if the wireless card is Enabled and working. If it has a yellow ? against it then reinstall the wireless PCI LAN driver.

Wireless LAN

You can tell if its the driver by going into Device manager. Start>right click on My Computer>click on Manage>then find device manager in the left plane window. Look down the list of hardware and find network adapter. Click on the plus sign and it should show you are card with 802.1xx on it, that's your wireless lan card, if there is a yellow, red or black symbol next to it then just right click on it and choose :"reinstall driver" see if that helps. If everything looks fine then let me know there is one more true way to check if it is your wireless card or something else. If you have any questions let me know. Pls rate this solution.
