Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a new Toshiba NB205 netbook and I want to replace the memory card with a Crucial 2GB card. I removed the back panel (1 small Phillips screw) and I see the 1GB card, but I do not know how to remove the existing card and I am afraid of damaging something if I attempt to remove it improperly.

Steps to perform it.
1. remove the battery pack from your laptop
2. In perfect case you would need ground wire put on you hands.
3. move latches from each side of the memory to side.

How to open and upgrade RAM memory of gateway netbook model LT2704u?

This netbook is really the Acer Aspire One D255. You have to pop off the keyboard, then remove 4 screws that hold the back panel in place, which will allow you to remove that back panel in order to get to the memory.

Here's a video - blurry but it tells the story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KYNTvF0-5M

I want to replace the keyboard on my Toshiba NB205 netbook.

Hello, I would like to help you with this issue.

You can order a new keyboard from HERE

What you would do is the following:

Turn the laptop over take out battery and un do TWO to three screws marked with a arrow this will allow the keyboard to be removed.

You gently pull up on the loose keyboard undo the snap on the ribbon connector. Be careful not to use object that might break this connector.

When in doubt or if you feel you cannot do this purchase the replacement keyboard and take it to a locally tech where it can be done for you.

I hope this does help, Thanks for you visit here @ Fixya.com

NB205 is stuck in hibernation mode. Tried taking out battery, pressing power button for 10 seconds, unplugging, hooking it up to external monitor, etc. If I can just get it to turn on 1 more time so I can...

Remove the battery and disconnect the power unit. Remove the hard drive and RAM.
Power the netbook up. It should complain that the RAM is too low and the drive is missing.
Power it down and replace the drive and RAM.
That will get it going again.
If it doesn't, you have a mother board fault and need specilised help.

Tosheiba Netbook NB205-N210 2 GIG, upgrade to Windows 7

I personally have not but if you are concerned how it will run, you should be fine, windows 7 is very efficent on resources.
  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
These are system specs so if you exceed these then your laptop will run great.

    Hope this helps

HOW TO INSTALL 2GB MEMORY IN MY 1GB MEMORY NOTEBOOK

hi, first you will require a small phillips/cross head screwdriver, turn your notebook over so you are looking at the bottom, you should see either one or two panel's with small screws in them, undo the screws and lift the panel ( dependent on the type of system you have 1 or 2 panels ) if you do not find the memory under the first one , then try the other one, once located, the chip will be in a holder with two clips either side of it, push these clips out to the side at the same time gently (as not to over do it ) then the memory should pop up slightly take note of the small cut out in the memory stick ( it will only go in one way ) then remove it by pulling up lightly on it at same time pulling out of the holder, to fit new one, put in holder at a slight angle upwards, then gently push it into the holder, and at same time push the chip down the 2 clips either side should click when fitted just replace the cover and there you have it...hope this helps please vote thanks

My TOSHIBA MINI NB205-n313/9 10.1 inch net book will not turn on

Hi,
The laptop is not turning on?

Remove the battery and try boot the machine on AC power only. If the computer starts up turn it back off, reinsert the battery and try to boot the computer again.
If it still won't boot with the battery inserted then i suggest you send or take the computer back as there is a hardware problem.

Regards.
