I've tried everything but can't get my Philips 9632 LCD to display the AVR3802 set up menu. Tried connecting the Denon via a video cable and via s-video cable to the appropriate side inputs on the Philips, but to no avail. Very frustrating and any help would be much appreciated!
    Kind regards,

I had this same experience and after hours of attepts to fix it (including the suggestions on this site) I found that the company that installed and set up my system literally disabled the "set up" on the remote so that it could not be changed. To fix this (and/or confirm that this may be your problem) reference page 39, "all reset functions" to reset your remote back to factory settings. As soon as I did this and hit "set-up" -- the set up menu popped up and worked appropriately. Hope this works for you!

Onscreen Problem : With my 3802 and plasma i have the same problem , i have to change input from HDMI to AV-1 to view onscreen . Depending how your system is set up , try running (seperate) video from Denon dvd to tv ie: video signal .

My owners manual states onscreen only available using S-video

Keep plugging away ...

This happened to my 3803 also and it was very frustrating. I then read somewhere online that it's a bug and it needs a video signal present to display the screen set-up. In other words, while it is playing a DVD or other video signal, try the screen set-up. I hope this helps--it worked for me!

I can't get a menu screen up on my Denon AVR 2803.

Did someone turn the OSD off on the menu? You might try a reset of the receiver. This would be in your manual.

Hii,

Try this out:

Go to the display settings in the settings menu. Pick HDMI for your video output and follow the steps to set your screen resolution. When I accepted the video settings I was taken automatically to the audio settings options. If you’re not given this option just go to the set audio output settings and enter this screen. Pick the optical connection and follow the screens choosing the audio options that match your receiver. DD and DTS.
At this point you should have video to your TV through HDMI and audio to your receiver through the optical cable.

Goodluck,
please dont forget to rate me as fixya..

RE: Denon AVR 3300 - I cannot get the system setup menu to display on Phillips P50PFP5332D tv screen? All connected components work and sound great, but I cannot see Denon's Setup menu on tv to a

I understand, it's something I've misunderstood on my denon avr-790 as well when connected to a samsung 8000 series led tv.
The answer isn't in the receiver's settings (you can be on whatever source you want on the receiver end when toggling the menu). You need to toggle through the tv's sources to find the menu (usually found on hdmi 1). I've spent towards an hour recently troubleshooting only to find that it was the tv's source that wasn't set properly and I was trying to change the receiver's settings instead of the tv's source.
Hope that helps!

I am unable to get my TV to display the Denon setup menu. I tried calling Denon, and we then verified all my connections. Still no luck. WTFO?

The most basic On Screen Display:

You run a single RCA-type cable from Monitor Out to any available Video Input on the TV and select that input at the TV.

You could try sticking a vcr/dvd player in between the connections and using those input/outputs instead.

Denon 3801.cant display setup on tv

Hello gerrydav, What might be happenening is the refresh rate for your blu-ray is offsync for your preferred display. You should be able to change it by plugging it into another TV and playing around with the settings. If you have further problems please feel free to post again.
Please post what you do and how you did it. I look forward to your posts.

Are you using the composite outputs? The menu just come up from the S- VIDEO and VIDEO outputs. If this not solve the problem, chances are that the IC that handle the menu display is damaged.

Hope this helps
