1 Answer

2006 Trailblazer & Viper 5301 with XK01, No heat or AC when remote started, where should the orange Accessory wire be connected to at the ignition. The ignition accessory wires are suppose to be orange1 and brown2, neither one of these connected to the viper allow my heat or ac / fan to come on with remote start.

Yeah, just the brown wire is not fixing my problem. I get a check engine light now with about 10 codes when I remote start. If I clear the codes and start with key no problem, start with remote, engine light back on. I assume this is accessory related because what needs to be powering up is not. Both the orange and brown accessory wires show good voltage after the T-Taps, something else is messed up.. besides just the blower not coming on.... sigh... haha

  • richn3 Sep 24, 2009

im just reviewing... i think maybe who posted the specs I used might of mixed up something..
Coming from the Viper this is how it reads...

    H3 - 1 Pink - Ignition 1 output (also ignition input)
    H3 - 2 Red/WHite 12v+ Fused 30a input (contact 87 of RS Flex Relay)
    H3 - 3 Orange Accessory output
H3 - 4 Violet Starter output (car side of starter)
    H3 - 5 Red 12v+ constant fused 30a input (for ignition 1 relay)
H3 - 6 Pink / White Flex Relay Output (default is ignition 2)
    H3 - 7 Pink/Black Flex Relay contact 87a (default is ignition 2)
H3 - 8 Red / Black 12+ fused 30a input (for accessory and starter relays)

With some rethinking maybe it needs to be like this:

    H3-1 PINK Ignition 1 - PINK@IGN HARNESS

    H3-2 RED/WHITE Ignition 2 - RED/WHITE@IGN HARNESS

H3-3 ORANGE Accessory - ORANGE IGN HARNESS

    H3-4 VIOLET Starter - YELLOW@IGN HARNESS

    H3-5 RED Ignition 1 RED@IGN HARNESS

    H3-6 PINK/WHITE Ignition 2 output WHITE@IGN HARNESS

The brown should be the one you use (secondary accessory)
The fan/ac selection must be made by you via the temp control knobs.
If they are set to off - the fans wont just come on... they have to be selected ON, and to the desired temperature.
The alarm simply provides the 12V signal to the relay allowing power to the accessories.
Did you install this yourself?
Is the secondary ignition wired up too??
There could be other problems associated with the fans not coming on as well... electrical troubleshooting is difficult without actually being IN the vehicle.
Your local DEI dealer should be able to sniff out the problem in no time, and get you running for under $35.
Thanks for using FixYA!!

That looks like its a good install.

Are you using T Taps or splicing/soldering the wires?

Double check all the voltages after the taps if you are using them. Sometimes the insulation isnt cut through - or the male connector doesnt seat correctly on the tap.

  • blueextc3221
    blueextc3221 Sep 24, 2009

One thing you havent listed is your Constant 12V red.

    Oversight?

  • blueextc3221
    blueextc3221 Sep 24, 2009

From here - it looks good.

Check the pulses and voltages after the brain to be sure the signal is being sent... and there isnt a problem with the taps.

Check for the proper voltages before AND after the tap.

    Thanks

One thing i have found going thru your hookup is the secondary ignition wire - you have listed as red/white

    It should be white only.

    Red/White is a second constant 12V feed.

unfortunately i cannot find the VEHICLE wiring schematic anywhere to verify the blower activates from the accessory, or secondary accessory trigger.

It sounds like you have your ignition and starter wires reversed. The remote start programs when the ignition wire sees 12 volts and then loses the 12 volts. If you have the remote starts igniton wire on the trucks starter wire then that is why you can prgram it when you start it only... cause you get 12 volt only when the truck cranks and then loses the 12 volts once it is runnng. You may have the right colors from the remote starter correct but check to see if maybe from DEI they have the wires in the wrong positions.

There are two constant 12 volt wires at the ignition on this vehicle: blue and green. The red power (with fuses) wires from the Viper should be connected to either of the two. The ignition wire is yellow. The pink wire from the Viper should be connected there. The accessories are orange and white. The pink with white from the Viper should connected to one and the orange from the Viper should be connected to the other. Please note that the Pink with white should be programmed to act as an accessory (off during crank). The starter wire is red and the purple from the Viper should be connected there. Also check for a good ground connection.

For programming:
Press and hold "f" until LED lights solid (approximately 10 seconds), then press and hold remote starter button(circle w/arrow) until LED blinks three times and the amber transmit LED lights up.
Now you have to enter the remote control learn routine: Turn ignition on, within ten seconds press and release control button on antenna then, press and hold control button while pressing the lock button on remote. System will respond (horn/chirp/flashing parking lights) when holding control button and when pressing lock button on remote.

You did not mention the year/make/model but, it sounds like the HVAC wire of the vehicle was not connected during the installation or, the 30 amp fuse that powers the accessory output from the Viper is blown. Did the heat and A/C work before during remote start?

Most likely only one of the cars 2 accessory circuits was powered up by the remote start. There definitely are 2 (red and white/blue). Please double check with multi-meter before just hooking up. But that should solve the no fan upon remote start.

Viper 4806v won't program I am trying to install a viper 4806v two-way remote start/keyless entry in my automatic 2004 toyota camry LE 4cyl. I got the lock/unlock, horn, lights to work, and trunk pop to work. I can't seem to get the remote start to work. When I press the remote start button on the remote keypad, the car does not start and the headlights flash 7 times. Troubleshooting says 7 flashes mean a manual transmission mode error. This means I have to enter programming menu 3 and change the starter to automatic mode. When I follow the directions to get to menu 3, nothing happens because I cannot get to menu 3 when I hold down the control button after turning the ignition off. In other words, the control button is not working. The neutral switch is on like it is supposed to be. Kind of bummed about this. Could use some guidance. My wiring goes accordingly and this car does not have an immobilizer because I used a regular metal key to start it. This car has no alarm, just a stock keyless entry, trunk release, and panic button. Again, the problem is :The remote start comes in default manual transmission mode so I have to switch it to automatic transmission mode but I can't seem to enter programming. When I try to enter programming with the procedure followed using the control button, nothing happens. It does not chirp and the LED does not blink. I also cannot enter valet mode using the control button. When the car is locked, the LED blinks and stop blinking if car is unlocked ignition is turned on. I do not understand what is going on.
