Set won't stay on, won't turn on

Worked fine one night; next it came on as normal. One minute later it shut off. It would not turn on, although I could hear the click of the "On Relay?" when I pushed the power button. Waited 1/2 hour it turned on for 10 seconds, then off by itself. Next morning, on for 10 seconds again, then it shuts itself off.

- Update: after not trying to turn the tv on since yesterday morning, I tried it last night. Pushed the power button on the remote, and the tv made a VERY loud (electrical)"snap".Any additional thoughts? If a capacitor, where are they located? Est cost of parts? The tv is a Hitachi 50FX 18B "series". Thanks.

Pushed the power button on the remote, and the tv made a VERY loud (electrical)"snap".Any additional thoughts? If a capacitor, where are they located? Est cost of parts? Sounds like a capacitor on the power supply is bad. Easy fix.
