Turn on the unit with the remote controller, Wait until "no disc" appears in the unit's display. Press the keys: PAUSE, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9. And "CODE" will appear in the display. Press the number key that corresponds to the disc zone you want to play within the next 5 seconds:0: All regions / 1: Region#1 / 2: R#2/... and so on. Then, within 5 seconds, press: PAUSE, POWER... and voilà. If you don't have good results, disconnect the equipment and repeat. Or Put your player in standby mode and then enter: [ [ENTER] Default Default region code [ENTER] or [UP] [ENTER] Region 1 [ENTER] or [RIGHT] [ENTER] Region 2 [ENTER] or [DOWN] [ENTER] Region 3 [ENTER] or [LEFT] [ENTER] Region 4 [ENTER] or [TITLE] [ENTER] Region 5 [ENTER] or [DVDMENU] [ENTER] Region 6 [ENTER] or [RETURN] [ENTER] Region 7 [ENTER] or [DISPLAY] [ENTER] Region 8 Or Put player into standby modes by pressing power button on remote control. Then press Title button. Press Clear button. Press Power button. I found these codes for all the other DVP-SR series players, yours was not listed but I thought was worth a try.
Sorted it....followed following and changed to region 4 instaed of open to all regions and the the dvd's worked! Not sure why I had to change from multi-region to sole region 4 but why question when it works! Thanks
press remote keys in this order- open-setup-mute-last-next-this opens the service menu where you can select ALL regions or in my case changed to region 4 only!
1. Make sure that tray is empty and no DVD is in 2. Turn the unit off and the on again 3. Open the tray 4. On the remote, hit 9879 and the region code. For any-region support hit 0. 5. Very important - hit OK on the remote.
If the DVD player is capable of playing other regions, you should be able to change the region setting through the menu section. If there isn't an option to change the region settings in the menu, then your DVD player is not able to play other DVDs from other regions.
Try the following - it worked for me with my DCP850/37...

1. Make sure there is no disc in the player. 2. Turn power off and on again. 3. Open the tray. 4. On the remote, hit 9879 and then 0. This changes unit to Region 0, meaning it'll play all regions. 5. Hit OK on the remote.
