Some system chassis com with 2 or 3 sets of audio and usb ports, front and rear, and some motherboards have similar provision. These board jumpers are used to enable/diasble some of the ports

Have you plubbed speakers into the GREEN port??

In speaker properties can you see the driver or is it greyed out?

You say you are using USB speakers, if so they will reuire a drive unique to them. Load driver BEFORE they are plugged in to USB.

I just asked about removein the startup password wat do mean with the jumper i am new with computers so could u explain a lil more

3ac542afbc4ff40fe47b72448dec8cca.png they look like this and can be any color... Most motherboards can have the BIOS password reset by moving the jumper to the correct pin position. Many motherboards have small print by the jumper to indicate the correct positions. For example you might see some pins on the mother board, with a jumper like the one above, with the words PSWD RST or something similar wrote on the mother board. If the jumper is on pins 1 and 2 move it over to pins 2 and 3, then reboot your computer. Then shut down the computer down and put the jumper back where it was and it should have reset the pass word.

I would advise you to compare my instructions to that of *********** boards manual which you can download form the mother boards manufacturers website.

Ok i dont have a clue wat u mean by fixin th jumper on the board i am new with workin on computers so if u could explain more i would be greatful email at forgottonson666@aol.com

Look on the motherboard.
Look for gold-colour pins, sticking at 90 degrees to the motherboard.
Some of those pins may be arranged in a 2-by-N "grid".
Some of those pins may have a (usually black-coloured) jumper,
which electrically connects two pins.
Move the jumper to the desired pair of pins.

PS 2 port problem

What is the model number of your motherboard? VIA does not make Processor's/CPU's.
VIA makes chipset's for motherboards.
In order to answer your question I'll need the manual for the motherboard. No manual listed here: http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/mainboards/others/p4xb_m.jsp

Here is a picture of the VIA P4XB-M motherboard. This model can not use DDR2 memory. (Only, 184pin PC2100 DDR266 DIMM)
Found here: http://www.upgradecomputermemory.com/ram.cfm//memory/V/VIA-Technologies/P4XB-M-Motherboard/256MB-VIA-Technologies-Desktop-184pin-PC2100-DDR266-DIMM.html

VIA P4XB-M
http://www.via.com.tw/download/mainboards/4/11/P4XB-M.pdf

99.0% of motherboards still use PS2 ports. One colored purple for the PS2 keyboard female port, back side of the MB & the other colored light green, female port, back side of the MB PS2 mouse port. By default, most motherboards have the jumper for PS2 keyboard enabled. Location for this two-pin jumper varies from board to board.
A USB port looks like this:
http://www.rickysays.com/images/usb-port.jpg
The PS2 port's are found in the upper left hand corner of this same picture. This next link will show how to connect USB motherboard jumpers including their wire locations. (Standard for most motherboard USB connections).

Audio from only one rear channel

Hi,

I have an Intel P4M890-M7 SE motherboard & I am only getting rear audio from one channel with windowos XP. (I have no front audio).

I have been told that the audio jumper settings on the mother board may need adjusting.

Does anyone know where abouts on the motherboard I can find this jumper & what setting should it be on for stereo?

Many thanks,
