Update the driver file for it....right click the drive, click properties, it will give you a description of it...go to the tab that has the driver file description and click update driver...let it go online...it will get the correct generic driver for your dvd-ram drive.

Media recognition

assuming you have used this make of media before and tried other discs incase you have a bad batch, it could be that your drives laser itself is starting to fail when reading certain media, although it may still be able to read cd's and DVD it may fail with CDR and/or DVD-RW discs.

Problem when downloading file says installer integrity check has failed. common causes include incomplete download and damaged media. cannot install files.

If you're reading the file from a CD-ROM, then either:
* the CD-ROM drive is reading incorrectly,
* the CD-ROM is scratched, and thus cannot be read 100% correctly,
* bad RAM in your computer, that "corrupts" the data being read from the disk into the RAM.

Replace the CD-ROM.
Replace the CD disk.
Download "MEMTEST86+", and run it, to test the RAM; replace, if necessary.

LITEON DVD/CD-RW CAN READ DVD BUT NOT AUDIO/DATA CD.

I would suggest cleaning the drive with a cleaning dvd, $19.99 at most retailers. Or you can open up your computer and verify all connections to the drive are good, disconnect and re-connect to be sure. Hope this helps.
