Question about Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook
My display is having problem ... the white part is getting pink ... and i hav some green dots on screen
First, reseat the video cable (Located under the keyboard) then, if nothing changes, try an external monitor and see if the issue occurs there. You can also run the Diagnostics Fn + Power Button and select N when asked if the video displays normally to initiate the LCD color test) If the LCD has issues in the diags, then it will need to be replaced. If issue occurs on external monitor, then the Motherboard is likely the issue

Check the display on the external monitor. if the display if fine, you lcd needs to be replaced. if the display is the same, your computer mother board has gone bad.
here is what you can also try before calling Dell.
Turn off your computer.
now, press and hold the Fn button at the bottom left hand corner. and then turn on the computer. kepp holding the Fn key down untill you see Pre boot self assesment. it will check all the hardware problems in the computer. After 2 minutes it will show you a rainbow. if the colors are fine press Y else press N. it will give you an error code. call dell and give the error code and get the LCD repalced.
