Ticking sound it telling you TV is in shut down you either have a bad capaciotr in the high voltage circuit or a Bad FBT flyback transfomer if a capacitor is bad look for either a 1uf 100volt cap or 2.2uf 100volt But first resolder all the pinns on the FBT.

Ego tv flyback tic tic sound problem how to repair

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

My set is having a vertical fold over. I can`t see the upper portion of the picture. It has also a vertical retraces and a white horizontal line on it`s center..I replaced bulged electrolytic capacitors...

Hi
Please check the DC supply voltage applied to the IC. If it is higher than the specified voltage, replace the filter electrlolitic capacitor near the rectifier diode. This circuit is generally located near the flyback transformer. If this does not work the vertical deflexion coil on the CRT neck is probably defective.

I replace horizontal output transistor with new one but it happens the same short

check yoke coil for open ckt, and and check for 12 v dc supply to vertical circuit, sometimes resistor open that supply dc voltage coming from flyback transformer.

Sanyo DS27880 TV, vertical sweep is gone, sound ok

Check for cold joints on the vertical chip. DS27880 sets use a la7841 typically.

If soldering doesn't fix it, simply replace the vertical as well as the 1ohm 1/2W resistor and
the fast recovery general purpose (nte556 equiv) near the flyback.

Sylvania TV - 3 tics

Not economically. The ticking sound is a sure sign of high-voltage shutdown, and is coming from your flyback transformer - the most expensive part in the TV besides the picture tube. Even if it's not the flyback, troubleshooting the high voltage section is usually more than the cost of a new TV.

Check for shorted base-collector junction on horizontal output transistor designator Q14401. Also coil L14401 going to base of transistor needs to be desoldered, scrape ends, resoldered. If horizontal transistor is shorted, real possible flyback transformer bad.
