What you need to do is go to the manufacture's website and download the firmware. Backup your files on the mp3 player. then go and do a firmware update that will fix it

UPON EJECTING THE DISC FROM MY MDS-JE440 IT IS WIPING ALL DATA AND BLANKING OUT THE DISC COMPLETELY ! IT HAS ONLY STARTED DOINING THIS IN THE LAST DAY OR TWO AND I'VE LOST MUSIC OFF 6 DISCS COMPLETELY, SO...

I think your recording head failed, you should stop using the deck and get a similar used one which works, repairs are usualy not cost effective.
Prodigital in Philadelphia does repairs, I paid about $250 for a replacement loader unit installed + shipping.

Wii unable to read disc

If it is multiple store bought wii games, then your wii dvd drive will need to be replaced. Your other choice would be to mod the system and play games from a hard drive. Go to www.wiihdmods.com for free mod software.

With certain games it says Unable to Read Disc.... why??? Its in the right way... its not scratched... or dirty.... I dont understand. Ill put a diff game in and it works.. Just certain ones?

Check to see if there are any scratches on the discs. Scratches or marks on discs will render game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating “Disc Read Error” or something to that effect. Best remedy for starters, is to clean the discs and make sure there are no scratches or marks left on the play-side of the discs. Try to see if there is any label damage to the disc. Hold up the disc to a light source and if you can see pin holes or light passing thru any scratched marks to the label side, I’m afraid the disc may be history. Check out the site below for more info on this.

Most Game Discs, DVD’s and CD’s can be fixed quite easily. Some home remedies may help with very light scratches on some of these discs but a professional disc repair service is usually required to repair any discs with more than very light marks or scratches. Discs can normally be repaired back to a virtually new condition.

For further help on disc repairs, visit:

www.discREPAIR.ie Get Scratched Discs Repaired Back to "As Good As New Condition".

Check the “More Info” & “FAQ” Sections for further details on disc repairs and related matters.

If you tried some home remedies and they have not worked, try sending the disc off for repair, it’s normally the price of a standard letter, if the disc is sent as a letter and properly packaged. There may be a local disc repair service in your area. If not, contact the site above for advice on repair and shipping.

Hope this Helps!!!

"could not repair disc" after power outage

If this happened after a power outage and not a hit/drop then it's probably fried the board to the hard disk, you can often get another board from the same model drive and fix it, by swapping the boards over.
