Re: the freezer is working, but the frig section is not...
Some units have two fans which are missleading when diagnosing. Most of the time if you simply defrost the fridge unit for a good 12 hrs, it will rectify itself.

Freezer supplies cold air for the fridge section.. Check fridge gasket for tight seal, operating freezer fan along with proper operation of damper mechanism which directs flow of cold air into the refrigerator.
check air flow at frezer. also were is freezer/frig dial set to? place it in the middle. also look for freezing up on back wall and bottom of freezer. DO NOT SET FREEZER/ FRIG DIAL ALL THE WAY TO FREEZER!!!. PLACE HAND WERE YOU CAN FEEL AIR FLOW AND TURN DIAL AND YOULL SEE WHAT I MEAN.

That can be the result of a couple things. Check to see if you hear the fan running in the freezer side? If not, since cold air falls, the cold air could be migrating from the freezer into the frig bottom section through the air duct hole in the back of the frig behind the crisper drawers. If the fan is running the check the air damper in the top left of the frig section. If the frig side is cold enough you should not feel air blowing through. Air flow is only very slight. You will have to remove some plastic cover or duct piece to see if it is closing. If the air damper seems to be working properly, you may have a refrigeration problem indicated by frost build up on the lower part of the freezer back wall. You may want to call in a pro at that point. Hope this helps point you in the right direction.

There are a few possibilities. First, Is the freezer portion working okay? If yes, then the problem is blocked air flow from the freezer to the frig. If no, then the cooling fan could be bad or the thermostat could be bad. First check for temperature in Freezer section, should be about 4-8 degrees no more. If it is cold, then locate the cooling fan behind the back of the frig and see if it is moving or listen for movement. If it is moving then rearrange the food in your freezer compartment.and frig compartment away from the vents. If it is not moving, then the thermocouple could be bad. compressor problems and freon leaks are not that common unless the frig has been moved alot. The cooling fan or thermocouple or overstuffed freezer compartment are the usual suspects in 90 % of cooling problems. cooling fans and thermocouples can be cleaned by using canned compressed air to remove dust which will sometimes cause a failure. The parts are inexpensive but labor is about $80. Start with the freezer because all of the cooling for the whole unit starts in the freezer.
you have a few possibilities 1. a defrost problem restricting air flow from freezer to ref. 2. a bad freezer fan motor 3. a damper issue not opening to allow air to flow from freezer to frig. most all refrigerators generate the cooling from the freezer to the frig via the freezer fan motor
sounds like your defrost timer is not working properly . Most fridge/freezers the fridge gets cooled from the cool air from the freezer . But when the defrost timer is not working properly the section between the fridge and freezer freezes up and hence doesnt allow the flow of cool air into the fridge. The defrost timer can be easily replaced.
You may think the freezer is fine, but stick a thermometer in to be sure. It should be around 0 degrees F. If not, you may have iced up coils. See some other posts on this site about getting to those coils and defrosting.
