Is there a fuse on the compressor? - Refrigerators

I found a gizmo in the wiring that looks as if it should hold a couple of fuses.
Before the repairman comes up with a new compressor I would like to know what the gizmo does.

I'll look. But I am still curious about this little white plastic thingy that looks as if it is meant to hold 2 fuses. Any idea?

There is a over load or limit --witch ever. keeps the compressor from getting to hot.. there may be a relay on it to. If it is going no nad off replace the relay it plugs on the post on the compressor . Most likely the overload is ok. Ken

04 navigator is blowing ac fuse 11, ac coil shorted, 3 different coils, can ac compress short the coils

How did you hook up the inline fuse to compressor and ground to compress ? Ground what ? Right at the clutch coil ? You have to be hooking it up wrong . The compressor can't cause the clutch coil to short or blow the fuse , even if the compressor were seized up . An before that would have the serpentine belt would burn up , squealing noise. applying B+ voltage in the relay socket ,pin 30 to pin 87 will engage the compressor clutch . If the fuse blows the wiring from the relay to the compressor clutch is shorted to ground . Look for rubbed through wiring harness .

My 2010 chevy malibu ac won't work, the fuse blows when I turn it on but nothing is grounded out could it be a bad compressor causing this?

If the fuse blows, unplug the compressor wire to the clutch and replace the fuse and try again. If the fuse doesn't blow, the compressor is the problem. If the fuse blows suspect a direct short in the wiring from the relay to the compressor

Why does the ac comp fuse onder hood keep blowing

Possible direct short in compressor clutch. Disconnect wiring harness from compressor and then turn AC on> If fuse doesn't blow, then problem is in compressor/clutch. Suspect it to be seized. If fuse blows while compressor disconnected then problem in wiring.

Car airconditioning blowing fuses

is your blower motor running what amp fuse are you using check for a wire shorted at the compressor by the clutch this is the part mounted on the compressor that engages it the compressor could be bad causing the clutch to overload creating a short unplug the connection to the clutch and see if the fuse still blows this would confirm if its a wire or the compressor

Where is fuse for air compressor to lift air shocks on a 1996 buick riviera?

The are 2 fuses that deal with the air suspension. One is located in the fuse panel inside the vehicle on the left hand (drivers side) and it is the fuse marked "IGN 3" (see diagram below) Also the other one is located in the fuse panel under the hood of the vehicle in the passengers side front corner. That fuse is marked "ELC" (see diagram below) The is also a relay but in most cases it's the fuse pr compressor itself. I hope this helps.

Ac compressor fuse location on 2000 mountaineer

I don't think there is a separate fuse for the compressor. If there is no freon in the system to actuate the low pressure switch the compressor won't engage.
