Question about Kenmore 64192 / 64194 Top Freezer Refrigerator

Banging noise from fridge

I have an older black/beige kenmore electronic top freezer fridge, the model number is C646-8088881 Type TFA-18, 4.0 Volts, and 5.25 oz. I bought it from a newspaper add, and when i had had it for about a month i noticed this bang every so often. I had someone come in, who is not Kenmore specific, and he told me that it was the control or circut board that was going. It freezes food, and then warms on its own. I have had many spoiled milk bags, and nothing keeps for long. I was wondering if i should just get a new fridge, or if you know what is wrong with it. Thanks Pat

Water is leaking into teferagerator, seemingly from the freezer compartment. It is a Kenmore Coldspot model 106.72132101 type 21 TFA.

That water is from the melting frost of the automatic defrost cycle. Their is drain in the freezer behind the back wall under the evaperator coil that is blocked, so instead of defrost water draining it's pooling in the freezer or in some case espically on models with the freezer on the top,the water is leaking from the freezer vents into the fresh food compartment.
The way to clear the drain is remove back plate and remove all ice build up and GENTLY make a small hole in drain through then totally flush w/warm water.
The exact location of drain is under the coil behind back freezer plate in the center

Good luck

I hope this helps

Kenmore fridge. freezer top works, but bottom doesn't.

Either your fan has stopped working, or it is not defrosting. Take the back panel of the freezer off and see if the evaporator coil is iced over, if it is replace the deforst heater, and the deforst thermostat. If the compressor is running the fan if the freezer should be running. Also make sure both your fridge and freezer controls are centered. Putting the freezer on the coldest setting acutally shuts off airflow to the fridge.

64194 Daily LOUD running noise

Unplug, and take cardboard cover at bottom off using 1/4 nut diver. Look at the fan; is there anything touching it? Spin it with your finger. Wait a few minutes then plug back in. Is it comming from the roundish black thing the size of a basketball? If so its not worth fixing?GOODLUCK>>>
