According to my research- this mobo will support 2GB ddr400/333 sdram- 1GB in each slot. don't think it will support ddram. don't know if you can mix 400 and 333 bus speeds. probably can, but put 400 in slot 1. not sure ddram will even fit in ram slots!
good luck!

Hi everybody, I have a problem installing a dimm SDRAM Module on a MoBo Syntax SVX 400. User Manual says that till 4GB modules are supported. I bought a Transcend 1GB PC266 SDRAM module to increase the...

One long beep signals a memory failure - the stick you just bought is faulty. BTW there is no PC266 in SDRAM the maximum is PC133. PC266 is the first standard that appeared for DDRAM. so you most likely have bought something not right from the start.

I got a computer handed to me with a asus P2B-f motherboard, works well, but running win98, may upgrade right away HOWEVER very slow with 128MB SDram win98 wont allow for the flash/adobe required to run...

Here is the manual for that board:
http://www.csslabs.com/static/download/cds/112/Mobo/ASUS_P2B-BX/Manual/Mb-p2bf.pdf

You must use 3.3 Volt unbuffered 168 pin SDRAM. Each slot (total of 4 slots) can have up to 256MB for a total of 1 GB.

Most local used computer shops will have this kind of memory (used, of course), probably at $10 or $20 a stick.

This memory is also available new (just don't buy anything over 256 MB per stick):
http://www.compusa.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=145&name=SDRAM&

You can use PC100 or PC 133. You can also use ECC or non-ECC. Non-ECC is more common.

What steps are needed to upgrade my memory. I have a etower667ir with ramsd64mpc. I want to install 2 128mb sdram dimm pc100. what do I need to do?

First download a system analyzer fromwww.belarc.com and use it to check what is the maximum Ram that it can accommodate. If it will take just make sure you-get Non-parity ram when you buy the sticks. please note that SDram is more expensive that DDRam, but cannot be substituted.

Diff between SDRAM and DDRAM

Only one of those will work in any computer. Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory is older and slower, Double Density Random Access Memory is faster and DDR2 is newer. The notch in the connector edge will not match the RAM slot if you have the wrong one. Also the DDRAM has various speeds to match the bus speed of the motherboard so designators like PC2100, PC2700, PC3200, etc. are important and correspond to 266MHZ, 366MHZ, 400MHZ, and so on. Notebook use SODIMM RAM and have the corresponding DDR, DDR2 designators but still have notches that must match the slot. When you buy RAM just provide the model of your computer as each manufacturer has numbers that are all designed to confuse it seems and there may be no chance of exchanging the memory after you open the package. Replace the power supply with one that you know is good, see if that helps. If not comment back and I will continue to search for solutions.
