Question about Mitsubishi WS-65819 TV

1 Answer

Ws-65819, No response, Not even the blinking green light

When I plug in my tv it doesn't even have the blinking light. Never had this problem before. Power cord is fine and 5 pico fuses read fine. Would the DM/Power board on the left be worth checking out, even if I don't have the green blnking light? Thanks for any help.

It looks like the previous owner tried to do some soldering. Atleast 3 traces, around 3 of the pico fuses on the circuit board, have lifted. What do I need to do to repair this board? http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii209... http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii209...

Yeah that's where I'm stuck right now, because the color wheel is fine on both. I'm guessing the problem is on the power supply because that's where the ballast gets it's power from. Thanks again

you might want to check first in the main power supply to see if you have voltages there--the DM or receiver unit gets its power from the main power supply indirectly

To repair damage--you understand the foil at each connection is copper---you have to scrape some of the green coating off near the parts and solder the exposed foil---idea is to solder a wire across any gaps to complete the circuit.

Got it?

as far as the other set goes----remove lamp and take a good look at the color wheel--it faces the lamp and if it is shattered or missing parts of the plastic wheel---lamp will not come on.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MITSUBISHI TV MODEL WS65819 THAT POPS ON AND OFF?

shutdown is happening= If set has been unplugged plug it back in and turn set on--when green power light goes off in a few seconds:

On front of set (not the remote) press and hold both the Menu and Input (Device) buttons at same time and hold for at least 5 seconds---then release both.

Power light will blink an error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks pause and repeat it for a total of 5 times.

Let me know what error code is and I will tell you what it means.

WS-65819 Shuts off

Yes, remove front speaker grill (pulls off) and inspection plate behind it.

There are 3 large circuit boards as you look from the front---signal to the right, power to the left and Deflection (vertical and Horizontal) in the middle.

What you want to look for is on the middle board any sign of GLYCOL which sometimes leaks from the picture tubes above it.

It is a clear liquid and even tiny amounts can short or stop the board from working; most damage should be in first 3 inches from front of the board----if you find any DO NOT TOUCH IT as it is toxic.

Glycol damage is not uncommon and the first thing you want to look for.

Front panel light just blinks

Hi Sharon,

Blinking of the LED at the front panel has an equivalent error code to give an idea what's going wrong to the set. Please check if there's a pattern of blinks, number of blinks separated with a pause or if the led blinks green continuously.
