i have been unable to locate a bypass for the region setting. if you burn your own movies there is a way around the issue. check out www.slysoft.com and the software they offer. it is shareware but it would solve your issue. nero also has the ability to burn movies to the region you have. slysoft works great as you leave the program running in the background on your computer as you copy/burn the movie and it will remove the region coding.

I bought a DVD from the netherlands. my DVD player says to check the regional code. I have Samsung M/C DVD 1080P 8/xaa serial # 02686 VBQ 512 632L. can you help me to get this DVD plAYED?

Hello. The reason your DVD cannot play the DVD is that the DVD is not formatted for North America/your DVD player. You can try playing it in a computer, but I cannot guarantee it will work. If you look on the back of the DVD, you will see a region code, the region for North America is region 1. Or, you can see if you know someone with a DVD player that can play foreign DVDs.

Thanks for using FixYa!

American Blu ray dic not playing in my malaysian sony bdp -s370

BD media does have region codes. But, unlike current DVD players, the region codes for BD media use letters instead of numbers to indicate a particular zone or region where the discs can be played.

The BD region codes are as follows:

  • Region A: North America, South America, U.S. Territories, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and other areas of Southeast Asia
  • Region B: Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Region C: Asia (except for Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other areas of Southeast Asia)

Question Can I change the region code on my player so that I can play DVD / Blu-ray disc from other regions? Hi,you can not play all DVDs unless you have a ALL CODE DVD player..
Here is the detailed info..

Regards and thanks for rating me.
-----
DVD region codes are a DRM technique designed to allow motion picture studios to
control aspects of a release, including content, release date, and price,
according to the region. DVD video discs may be encoded with a region code
restricting the area of the world in which they can be played.
It is therefore this US Association that is responsible for the RPC system that
effectively divides the world into six regions for the purposes of controlling
and manipulating distribution within the global DVD market.
There are six different official regions and two informal variations.[citation
needed] DVD discs may use one code, a combination of codes (Multi-Region), most
codes (Region 0) or every code/no codes (Region All). The commercial DVD player
specification requires that a player to be sold in a given place not play discs
encoded for a different region; however, region-free DVD players are also
commercially available. In addition, many DVD players can be modified to be
region-free, allowing playback of all discs. Region code Area 0 Informal term meaning "worldwide". Region 0 is not an official setting; discs that bear the region 0 symbol either have no flag set or have region 1-6 flags set. 1 United States, Canada, Bermuda, U.S. territories 2 Europe (except Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus), Middle East, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland 3 Southeast Asia, South Korea, Republic of China (Taiwan), Hong Kong, Macau 4 Mexico, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Oceania 5 Afghanistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Africa (except Egypt, South Africa, Swaziland, and Lesotho), Central and South Asia, Mongolia, North Korea 6 People's Republic of China, Hong Kong 7 Reserved for future use (found in use on protected screener copies of MPAA-related DVDs and "media copies" of pre-releases in Asia) 8 International venues such as aircraft, cruise ships, etc. ALL Region ALL discs have all 8 flags set, allowing the disc to be played in any locale on any player.

Can´t play European dvd´s in my Sony DVPFX810 player!

Hello Selmabjork:

Most DVD players have what u call region codes to play different types of dvd's. Look in your DVD menu settings and select the correct region code where u live. The US region code is 1. So this where I would start.
My question to you is does it play normal dvd's ok. Such as DVD's made in the United States, if so it's set right now for US region.
Also check your user maual for all region codes its usually there.

Happy Viewing....LT

Bought a dvd series of Ice Road Truckers series 2 off E-Bay. All my dvd players wont play. One says incorrect regional code. How can I get them to play.

you probably purchased a different region dvd. there is a code breaker for your dvd but it will stay on that code that you place in. ebay sells multiregional dvd players. and ebay also sells the codebreakers. look under multiregional dvd and search for the listing

Pe 705 is saying wrong region when yo try to play a dvd

The solution depends on where you bought your dvd player, certain dvds are released in north america or japan, etc, and they have different 'region codes' - meaning they can only be played by devices that have a matching code. To clarify, if you bought your dvd player in america, chances are you can only play dvds released in north america. For more information on region codes please go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code

It's not possible to change the region code in the Blu-ray Player.

You cannot play a movie that you have bought from... say the UK on a DVD player you bought from the States.
