Varying Fan Noise

I have the same problem with the T3506. I'm fairly certain there;s nothing wrong with the fan and that it is just designed to ramp up in speed when the processor is working harder (and getting hotter). I believe getting some freeware software such as SpeedFan
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/SpeedFan.shtml
may be able to solve the problem or at least keep the fan running at a constant speed to avoid the annoying varying fan sounds, but I haven't tried it yet.

Good luck and let me know if that solves the problem.

Cpu fans are smart fans it works according to processor's temprature. more processing of cpu makes fans speed faster...slowing down the speed of cpu fan may affect your cpu's performance

In my hp 61020 mt destop am facing the fan speed and noise is too high....any solution to this....

It may be just that the fan needs to be replaced.

More likely is that the computer cpu is overheating and the motherboard is ramping up the cpu fan speed to try to cool it, hence the high fan speed and consequent noise. This usually happens when the heat sink is clogged with a lot of dust. It could just be that the fan heat sink came loose.

It may be that it's just a noisy fan, in which case replace it with one that doesn't make as much noise.

Noise from somewhere in fridge when motor runs but stopd when doo

Good day,
There is a fan motor which is located in the freezer compartment behind the rear panel.
Remove the rear panel, and the fan motor will be exposed.
Have someone hold the light and fan switches in, and listen..
Sounds as if the brearings in the fan motor are going bad.
Removing, and replacing is a nuts and bolts repair.
Once you are certain it's the motor, call any decent size appliance parts house, and check for availability.
You will need the complete model number before calling, or take the motor with you.
Fairly simple job. In some situations it is best you buy the blade as well, if the replacement kit does not come with one.

Thank you for using Fixya

Noise coming from fan motor

this could be a drive belt or a dry bearing what ever it is you should get it sorted out,,, pull the unit out and find out were the noise is coming from if its a belt replace it if its the motor, it may need new bearings as there sealed type you cant just swill it with oil as nothing will get to the bearings the motor will need to be striped down to fit bearings in it

Hampton bay fan makes squeeking noise

If the fan is fairly new, remove it and return it to Home Depot. It is almost certainly something that has fallen down into the motor and is rubbing loudly enough to make a squeak as the fan runs faster.

The fan itself has sealed lubrication and you don't have to lubricate it.

Evaporator Fan Motor noise is excessive for this refrigerator. GE Profile CustomStyle Model PTI22SFMARBS Serial# SF900146V

Despite my urge to vent about GE refrigerators, I'll keep this short.

If you have a constant squealing noise from the evaporator fan in the freezer, there's a good chance the fan just has failing bearings, and replacing the evaporator fan might solve the problem.

But if the noise is intermittent; quiet sometimes but sometimes buzzing loudly, then my bet is there's nothing wrong with your evaporator fan. It's a problem with the design of GE fridges: They don't defrost completely. So ice builds up on the back freezer wall, etc., and on and around the evaporator fan. That's not a problem when the fan is in "low speed mode". But open the door, get the fridge warm, and the fan kicks into "high speed mode". That's when the noise will start, as the fan blades and assembly warps under speed to hit ice and start vibrating.

Acid test is this: While the noise is occurring, turn the fridge temp (not freezer) control up as high as you can without turning off the fridge. That will make the fan shift into low speed. If the noise stops, you got ice on the fan, my friend.

In that case, unplug the fridge, and get a hair dryer and blow warm air into and onto the evaporator fan area. Maybe gently whack the fan area with your hand a bit, to knock the ice off. Once you get all the ice off, turn it back on. If it runs on high, without any noise, the problem is fixed ... until the next set of high humidity days. I plan to post a video about this, once I get it edited to remove the expletives. ;-)

GE will sell you a "moisture kit" for $340, which may fix the problem, but only if your fridge is out of warranty.

If your fridge is still under warranty, GE will tell you there's nothing wrong and that maybe you just need ear plugs.

GE SidexSide PSS26SGPASS Makes Humming Noise

GE refrigs have a variable speed evaporator fan motor that is controlled by a computer board on the back of the refrig. now the noise you are hearing is most likely the fan motor ramping up and down in speed (some of my customers say it sounds like a ghost). if its a continuous ramping up and down then the speed cotroller on the board is bad and must be replaced. if its just an occasional sound then thats normal and nothing to worry over.

Btw the reason the noise stops when the door opens is because the fan shuts off when you open the door.
