Question about Linksys WRT610N Wireless Router

2 Answers

I have the Linksys WRT610N router and I've purchased two SIP phones that I want to connect WIRELESSLY via this router. The phones are one (1) Linksys WIP310 and one (1) Cisco SPA525G (which I could also connect via CAT5 cable). I have figured out how to get the router to recognize the two phones on the network, but neither phone can access my VoIP provider (HyperDog Digital). After setup, the phone display says ''Vocie not configured''. Linksys tech support -- web and phone -- are not helpful.

The first expert mis-understood, I think. The phones indicate that "Voice Not Configured". I can find no way to input the SIP Username and SIP Password on EITHER phone's interface, nor within the router. I suspect that it is a router software issue.

They are unlocked. Somewhere on the web, I recall seeing that the router should have an interface that includes fields for SIP Username and SIP Password. I'm using the LELA software associated with the Linksys WRT610N, and I can't find such fields anywhere. Nor can I locate them via the interface on either phone.

Wondering if your trying to work in two different modes. Are these devices lock or unlocked. I just wanted you to think of my questions. I admit, I haven't done what your trying to do so, I shouldn't even replied to your posting. I did because I thought it might help.

Other than the network settings, you should configure the SIP settings of the two VOIP phones. Make sure you have properly setup the server details, extension, subnet and gateway.

Should you have any clarifications, please let me know.

Connect HP 1102w to Linksys wrt54g

Hi! I was able to see that you've got a wireless printer. If you need to connect this to your router, this works like connecting a laptop wirelessly. First, you need to know your wireless name (SSID) and your password (WEP/WPA key). In case that you did not configure your SSID and password, it could be found on your router's sticker. If you were able to configure the two, then you just need to enter it when your wireless printer would ask for these info. If you needed help in configuring your router, I have here a page that you can follow just in case. Please visit http://www.columbia.edu/acis/networks/aptnet/linksys/index.html. This would help you on how you can set-up your router. In case this won't work, you may need to remove the printer's driver from your computer and reinstall it.Try to print a document via USB, just to make sure that it's working, then you may proceed in reconnecting it wirelessly.

I need help connecting a Linksys router # WRT610N to a MAC

If it is XP then in the bottom right hand corner you will find Wireless network connection ( looks like 1 computer monitor). Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is windows Vista, then in the bottom right hand corner you will find 2 computer monitor icon. Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is Windows 98/ME/2000 then use the adapter utility to connect to the wireless network.
For MAC you will see the AIRPORT icon at the top.

Check the wireless settings of the router first . Make sure that yopu have all the wireless settings of the router. If you are not sure about the settings, then open the router set up and check the settings.

WRT610n router power led light blinks and i cant

If the power light is blinking on the router , then it might not be working properly.
You will need to press the reset button on the back side of the router for 30 seconds. release it. unplug the power cable. plug it back in. wait for a minute and check if the power light is solid.
If not then try to reset the router again.
do the same thing and check if the power light is solid.

If the power light is solid then you will need to set up the router again.
If the power light is still blinking, then connect the computer to the router and check the IP address on the computer. If the IP address is 192.168.1.100 then try to open the set up page of the router and check the settings of the router.

Connecting new linksys n to our brother mfc685cw wireless printer. Printer will not read new linksys n router

Hi,

For isolation purposes, you may want to test the printer through the Linksys router via Ethernet cable and see if you can print if it is wired to the router. From there, configure the wireless printer to match the settings on your Linksys router. Once done, try printing again wirelessly.

Tips:
1. Make sure that they are on the same LAN segment. By default the IP address of the Linksys router is 192.168.1.1. so you may want to configure your printer using 192.168.1.2 for them to communicate.
2. Make sure that the wireless settings on the Linksys router match the wireless settings on your wireless printer. Check the SSID/Wireless Network Name and Wireless Security. All wireless settings should be the same for them to communicate wirelessly.
