Yamaha 6600de generator dies 3 seconds after starting

Ran like a champ easy starter and ran smooth last ran about two months ago. I have drained the carb, tanks full of fuel, has clean fuel filter, the oil alert has been disconnected long time ago. usually starts fast with electric start and hand pull, But now takes several pulls and only runs for about 3 seconds, several pulls in between the starts, trying to half choke or play with the throttle doesnt change the time frame, the plug isnt blackened or wet. it almost seems its not getting enough fuel???? do I have a a dirty carb?? it ran so good before. thanks for your help

When you pull the bowl off of your carb is it clean? If not you have some contamination possibly inside. You might want to remove the carb and blow compressed air through all the vents a ports.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED BOTH THE ALTERNATOR AND THE STARTER TESTED.THE CAR SHOULD STAY RUNNING OFF THE ALTERNATOR ONCE BOOSTED,IT SHOULD START OFF THE BATTERY WHEN FULLY CHARGED.
