Internal Memory problem??

Each time I turn on the camera, I 've got to reset the date, time and home screen. After doing a reset, it still continues. The manual says to have it repaired - is there a simpler solution? This camera is less than a year old. Thanks

Re: Internal Memory problem??

Just upgrade it the firmware to version 1.01 then reset to factory settings.

Also, I reformatted my SD card and built in memory before upgrading.

I got that same problem for months and was very happy that I solved it myself.

I had the same problem, i when into the menu, set-up and formated the internal memory this didn't seem to help, so i then reset the setting and the problem seems to have gone away.

Many digital cameras have a 2nd disposable battery to remember settings like date and time, and where to put the pictures, when the rechargeable battery is removed,, but I don't believe that is the case with your camera. possibly you are not actually getting the time set correctly, since the camera will continue to ask for time & date setting every time the camera starts, if it is not set properly when it asks. Concerning internal memory- Can you transfer the images from internal memory to the memory sick when you do insert it, or is there a chance that the memory stick is defective, and therefore the camera doesn't record to it?

No memory card, set time

The date/time battery is "built in" (not replaceable) to this model according to page 13 in the manual (available here). It is supposed to recharge when you have the regular battery installed, but if you leave the regular battery out for more than "approximately three weeks", the internal battery may go flat.

I'm not sure this has anything to do with the memory card issue, though. Check the battery problem by inserting a freshly charged battery, turning on the camera and setting the correct date and time, then turning off the camera and waiting an hour or so (with the main battery still in the camera). Turn the camera back on, and if the date and time have to be reset again, your internal battery may be bad, and the camera would need to be serviced.

Have to reset date and time every time I turn it on!

If you have to do that each time you shut it off and turn it back on try this. Take your memory card out and format your internal memory. Reset the camera and then re-enter the information. Shut the camera off and turn it back on and hopefully it will still be in there. If not then you have an internal memory error and that needs to be fixed by Casio.

Date and time

Carlo since you have already reformatted the only thing you can do is send to repairs. You are having an internal memory issue.

Camera resets when powered off

On my mother-in-law's Exilim camera, we resolved the issue by formatting the camera's internal memory storage (take out your memory card and navigate to the format option on the menu). You'll need to then set the date and time again but it then seems to store it. Hoping that helps someone.

Casio Exilim Z57 Date and Language set up

OK, here's the fix. This camera has internal flash memory that is used to store settings and can be used for limited picture storage. Its use for saving setting is essential, however. If this gets corrupted then the camera won't save settings. Whoever said to format the internal memory had the right idea.

After much experimentation here's how. Remove your SD memory from the camera and turn it on. This will force it to run on the internal memory only. Run through the time/date/location setup again. It will complain about the memory card. Ignore this and press menu. Under Setup, select format. Choose format memory card and do it. This will format the internal memory. Once it is done, turn the camera off and back on. You'll notice that the problem is gone and it has remembered your last setup.
BTW, my camera is a EX-Z75. Not sure there is a Z57 model.
