Question about Clarke Power Products Mig/Fluxcore 180En 220V

I need a replacement cooling fan for a 160. the one on mine has never worked decent. I've used a lot of welders but i would never get to exited over this one again

Try rs components , they should have exact match for most fans. as long as you know voltage and dimensions of original

Why isMy Acer aspire gettting really hot, would replacing the battery help?

Sometimes, the computer gets really hot because the "ventilation" (cooling) system (fan, etc.) is not working properly. Normally, if it gets too hot, i.e. to an unacceptable level, the system will shut down. Or, it will catch on fire.
Yes, it's known that some battery will get too hot ... and potentially damage the system. So, if you already know that the cooling system is working properly, then try replacing the battery.

It may be the bearings are gumming up. Try oiling with some synthetic oil.

If someone tried lubing it with WD40- replace fan. WD40 makes a great adhesive on close tollerance parts..

Hi there:

P1491 is for the cooling fan relay control circuit as you've found already.Start by checking the fuse for the fan relay. Its in the box under the hood, a 40 amp fuse.If you've got a couple jumper wires, you can unplug the fan connector and carefully jump the fan to see if it works. The fan connector is on the right side of the back of the fan shroud. Unplug it and jump the black wire to ground and the green to positive. You've got to be very careful doing this though-you are in very tight quarters, its not hard for your jumper wires to touch each other in the connector and short together, and if you use small diameter jumper wires they will get hot quickly when the fan comes on.If the fan doesn't come on when you jump it, or if it runs slow or sounds bad, you've got a bad motor and will need to replace the fan assembly. One thing that does happen somewhat often, is a bad fan motor will burn up the relay. If the fan motor is drawing too much current it will overload the relay and burn it up. This is why its so important that if the fan motor runs slow or makes noise that you replace it, or you may end up burning up relays frequently.If the fan runs and the fuse is good, its very likely you just need a fan relay. This is a pulse width modulated relay, not the on/off clicker type you'd find in the fuse box. This unit is capable of infinite speed control. It gets very hot in operation, so its mounted to the body sheet metal to allow heat to dissipate through the sheet metal. The relay is mounted under the right headlamp held down with two 8mm screws. To get to it you have to remove the front bumper cover and headlamp bracketry to access the relay. These relays are pretty common.

Need to know if the cooling fan on a millermatic200 should be on constantly if not when should it come on

Oil the bushings on the cooling fan with a light oil, I use SAE 20W synthetic nondetergent oil- The fan should be running all the time. It provides the 24 volts for the control circuit and contactors.

What you smell burning is likely the insulation on the wire of the fan motor.

My 1999 Chevy Malibu is losing the coolant though the overflow hose by the resevior I've had my head gaskets replaced there is no overheating no water oil mix, but my radiator fans arent working I

Sounds like you need to disconnect the Radiators' electric fans and have them tested. You absolutely must have them working, or your car will overheat. Check to see if the Temperature guage is working.

You need to go to a good autoparts store and have them test the fans and charge and test your battery. You may need some sensors to activate the Radiator fans, but you could be running the battery down with shorted cooling fans.

There are also Relays which work with the Radiator fans. The overflow will stabilize once the water gets into where it belongs. Make sure your Thermostat is not clogged with the sealer.

Hi I have a Lincoln Handy Mig I am running 0.30 wire welding a roll cage on a race car the welder keeps overheating {light keeps coming on} wont weld just sputters keeps kicking the breaker {20 amp}...

check to see if the cooling fan is working. put a box fan behind the welder so it will blow threw the vents on the rear, or better yet remove the side cover and let the fan blow into the side of the welder.if this works replace the cooling can......GOOD LUCK

Century 170 when useing it .it heats up an kicks a internal circut then cools down an works again till it heats back up. what is the problem an can it be fixed

Hello, I had a similar problem with a mig welder of my own. There is a temperature sensor on the heat sink. This can be in the form of a temperature switch which when the heat limit is reached, it activates a fan which cools down the heat sink. This is how it operates. Now, my problem was I was welding at a high current and it overheated my welder. I fixed this on my welder by replacing the fan with a higher volume one. The issue here is cooling. If you are welding at a high current, then the welder will overheat as the cooling is designed for average use. I am thinking that your temperature switch is not weak but operating as normal. I would suggest therefore increasing the cooling somehow by getting more air moving over the heat sink. An easy try is to have an external fan blowing over and into the welder case. Overheating is the issue here and if you have to weld at the higher currents or welding continuously for long times, then you have to get the unit cooler inside.

How do you ignite a Lincoln Electric Welder???

You don't need an striker with a MIG welder just hook the ground cable to the base metal point the nozzle where you want to weld and pull the trigger and it will weld. Household current will run a MIG welder Take a look at the plug on the welder if it will pug into a 110v outlet you are all set, but most likely you will need a 220v outlet and maybe as much as an electric dryer type outlet. 

It takes a lot of practice to be a decent welder you also need to know what voltage and wire speed settings to use for a given thickness and type of material. 

You don't mention shielding gas, if you are using a flux core wire you don't need it, but if you are using regular wire you do. 

If I may make a suggestion, If you really want to learn how to weld, find a community college near you and take an introductory welding class. You will get a wealth of information and practice on different welding processes. The instructor will work with you and get you welding much better and faster than you will on your own. Most importantly you will get a lot of safety information.

Blowing fuse when trigger is operated

the wiring that you are hooked up to probably isnt strong enough, welders pull a lot of juice, you might need to re-wire your hook-up
