I have a HDMI HANNspree HF207 20'' and I run Vista Home Premium w/ Service Pack 2. When I run the install disk with the drivers, it says Auto Install Finished, and then a screen that says autoins(then a bunch of japanese characters) has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the problem and notify you if a solution is available. I am connecting it via VGA to my Compaq C762NR Notebook PC. I do not have HDMI support built into the laptop, or else I would love to utilize the HDMI. Why am I getting the error; is the driver installed (it says Generic PnP Monitor on Mobile Intel etc... as the driver); is there a way to convert VGA to HDMI? An answer to any of those answers all of them I think. Thanks.

SOURCE: no sound..

first make sure that your monitor has all of the drivers and speakers built into it.and that you have a a good audio cable.know that you have to have it in the audio port with the green around it(the middle one)you can't take regular speaker and plug them into the monitor.but you can plug them into the green port in the middle.also make sure that your other speaker are good.if you got any more questions email me at [email protected]

SOURCE: Hannspree Monitor speakers wont work

I don't know if I caused the problem or not. I hooked up my new Hannspree HF237 monitor to my HP pc, and the sound wasn't loud enough so I hooked up my external speakers, and got nothing. So I disabled one without the other, and still got nothing. Now I can't even get the monitor's sound to come back on. Any ideas?

SOURCE: Hannspree will not supply XP drivers

In some systems the EDID/DDC information are not recognized because of a VGA cable. I have uploaded an XP driver for HF229H to here: http://rapidshare.com/files/401122732/HF229H.inf

SOURCE: windows detected my monitor as generic non pnp

This tends to indicate that the monitor isn't conveying it's specific information to the PC. This usually happens if the driver for the video card isn't quite right or is all together wrong.
You aren't getting bi-directional communication from the VGA card (yes, they actually do RECEIVE as well as send signals).
Look to your video card driver, and make sure it's the right one for the operating system you are using, and also that it's updated.

Hello

I bought a VGA to HDMI converter on Ebay. It works OK, but I prefer using a DVI to HTML adapter. As to the main problem. This has to be a driver issue. I'm wondering whether your drivers will work with Vista SP. It's the Japenese characters that are really puzzling. The Generic PNP monitor driver is the Windows resident. It's not loading your HDM drivers. I'm afraid I can't give you a definitive answer. I would like to see if this combination worked with XP. I'm betting it would.

Sorry I couldn't help more.
