Question about Whirlpool GR465LXLS Electric Kitchen Range

Whirlpool supercapacity 465 range won't heat up

Neither the top burners nor the oven will heat up. The clock and the oven heating timer both work so it does not appear to be a power issue. I have removed the burner coils and put them back in and still no luck with getting any heat. Any suggestions on what could be the issue?

    Hey Catriver,

I took your advice and checked the power, first at the outlet then at the end of the cord where it connects to the oven after pluggin the oven back in. Oddly enough I found that I had power at both with the proper voltage you noted! I tried the burners and the oven and found that both were now working. Essentially the only thing I did was unplug the oven and plug it back in. Any thoughts as to why the heating elements would have suddenly stopped working but the clock and timers were still working? Iis it possible I may have an issue that should be checked out by an electrician?

I really appreciated the feedback because it helped alot and paid 2 dividends - I got a new volt meter in order to check for the voltage you advised and I did not have to call my landlord and have the electrician find there was nothing wrong.

Hoops, it almost sounds like you lost a leg of power, L2. L1 is sending power to the board but but it's not making the loop. Too much of a coencidence that the burners and oven are not working. Check the cord connection to the oven. You should have 220V across the 2 outer terminals. 120V from each end to center terminal. Let me know what you find. Catriver.

Good work hoops, the fact that you lost both the top burners and oven led me to believe you lost a leg of the 220V. The fact that the control was still working verified that L1 or the first leg was still there. The control operates at 120V. L2 comes into play when the surface burners or oven is on. My guess is that you have a loose connection in the outlet itself. When you repluged the oven in, you made contact again and the range worked. Anyway, glad you fixed the deal, have the lanlord check the outlet the next time this deal happens.. Merry Christmas , Catriver.

My gas oven, Super Capacity 465 the oven nor broiler light. The stove top works fine.

Hello there
Please read the entire solution i have provided below ok
It won't bake or broil If neither the oven nor the broiler heats, but the range burners still work, the clock may be set for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. Check to be sure the clock buttons and knobs are set properly. If your clock has a knob that says "push for man(ual)," push the knob in and try heating the oven and broiler again. If they still don't work properly, you probably have a defect in the thermostat, selector switch, or common wiring. Note... If the oven doesn't have a separate bake/broil/etc. selector switch, the problem is often with the thermostat. It's not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper operation. If you suspect a problem with either of these, call a qualified appliance repair technician.

My whirlpool 465 model sf367lehn oven doesnt work along with the clock/timer but the top burners work fine, the wire connection in the back by the bottom of the oven looks green and corroded, if i clean the...

Well, I have seen a lot of issue with this type of ovens. How old is your apparatus? If the wires on the back look corrode or some how burn up that means that there were an over heating at one time or many times. Overheating on wires means excessive voltage going trough or been drown from. The wires get hot transferring too much voltage to the internal circuits thus putting stress on the components. The clock/timer got damage by this concurrence thus affecting part of the system of your Oven. If you change or clean the wires just check the whole machine, use your senses( eyes, smell) to look for the obvious that way you will save time and money.

Whirlpool Accubake Super Capacity 465 gas range. Oven won't light

I just had my ignitor replaced. The ignitor glowed but it must pull a certain amount of amps before it will allow the gas valve to open. Once the ignitor starts glowing the gas should come on within 30 seconds. Now that I saw it done I realize it was something I could have done myself. Be sure the tech does not try to slip you a used ignitor as mine tried.

Whirlpool supercapacity 465, elements are not heating properly and can see sparks at contacts

SuperCapacity? this is an electric range, yes? Sounds like the "eyes" are not properly seated in their sockets. If possible, pull power at the mains and firmly reseat all the heating elements. Two or three times, if necessary to get a good connection.

Whirlpool Accubake Super Capacity 465 gas range. Oven won't light

Some gas ranges may take 10 or so minutes to light.
Other than that you may have a defective glow bar ignitor.
If it glows and does not light the reistance in the ignitior has failed.

Heating elements

I have a Whirlpool super capacity 465, the surface light for the burners comes on, the burners don't heat up, nor does the oven,(the light that says oven is on does not light up). I checked the main circuit breaker, that works. Are there any fuses in the range that would need to be replaced?

Thank-You,maddie
