What video files will this head unit play?

Yeah, it has to do with the codecs that you have in your player.
There are so many ways to encode video material and if your player is lacking the appropriate software they will not play back. The media players on computers are far more adept at playing videos - VLC will play back just about anything. but with TV's it is a crapshoot - DVD players are generally better then the tv's but still there is some material that even they will not play back unless it is in the right format for them.

MP4 is a video file. MP3 is audio. When setting your player make sure you tell it that it is a video file and not audio. If I mess up the two on my dvd player I will have a problem - I have to properly identify my source as either video or audio.

Bypass most parking brake so can play video dvd players while driving

most parking brake wires from stereo/dvd players can be jointed to the ground cable to play video while the car is in motion/ on drive

I am unable to play video in sony XAV-601BT when I am not driving. Its says video blocked for your safety. How do I unblock it? Please help

your emergency brake typically needs to be on for these to work. so that you can't watch a DVD while driving.. Please drive safely and don't distract yourself trying to watch a movie while driving.

My JVC car Dvd cant play the video while driving, even when parked' what can i do?

It is often illegal and dangerous to allow an indash head unit to play video while the car is in motion. Depending on your model of JVC you may be able to "trick" it into playing video.

Some newer models use the gps guidance to determine if the vehicle is in motion and if so will not play the video. Other systems use the emergency brake.

Search the internet or for "JVC DVD your model Bypass"

I just received it and installed it, it will play cds just fine, but it wont play the dvd, it says you cannot watch in this mode while driving but the vehicle is in park. How do I get the video to play?

you need to hoohup ground wire to the e brake wire of the unit. this wire is to enable the dvd to display video or attach it to the emergency brake switch.

DVD player playing while driving

It's not that difficult. Get a two position toggle switch and run the wire that normally goes to the brake, into one end of the toggle. Then run a wire from the other end of the toggle to a ground. Whenever the message comes up on the screen about viewing while driving, flip the toggle switch on then off and it will bypass the safety feature. That's how I did mine and two other buddies of mine.
