1/4 turn taps installation

I have bought 1/4 turn taps but my plumber can't seem to find a way to install them so that the handles are aligned in the off position and the taps can turn in the same direction to turn on (eg. both turn upwards or both turn downwards to turn on). At the moment, the taps are aligned in the off position but one must turn up and the other must turn down to be on, which is very confusing to use. There is also the complicating issue of the ''hot'' & ''cold'' writing to remain upright. Does anyone know a tip on how to install these taps?

The only way to achieve what you desire would be to install two hot or two cold faucets.they were originally designed to turn opposite so the BLIND would know which tap they were turning.hot is left, cold is right.even w/my eyes closed.relax & enjoy a hot bath!

If the spindle is installed correctly, "floating" does not hamper proper operation. Review your installation and make sure the floating spindle is properly sated in the handle and alignment is maintained during the tightening process

We bought a house last year that has a pool with a Laars Lite 2 heater. The drain plugs were not on the unit and we've tried to replace them, but it seems that either the treads are stripped or they...

We come across these from time to time and we were told that when the part is installed at the factory it is by machine...sometimes they end up so tight that removing them strips the threads. In the past we take a pipe tap out and re-thread the hole and then the new drain plugs will fit fine. It is a 1/4" MPT (often referred to as NPT on taps) pipe tap (tapered). You may find a local pool or pump service company or maybe a plumber that will lend it or make the service call to do it for a reasonable price.

No you do not need a plumber,
below under the sink, there are two valves, One for Hot ,One for Cold.
Turn them to the right.make sure they are turn all the way with a little pressure at the end. Now the kitchen has no water.
With a wrench ot pliers remove the water hoses, There may be a little water left in the hose so don't panic.
Now this may be a little harder.
Put yourself all the way under the sink, with you on your back.
Do you see the taps. There may be a fitting with screws. remove screws and fitting. You should be able to remove the whole Tap.
With you new tap... Follow their instruction.
When you are putting the hoses back on.. make sure they are slightly snug.
We don't want it to leak again.
Turn you water back on and slowly turn on your taps.

Can't install new Kohler rialto Flush Value

First things first, remove the fill valve, and the flush handle mechanism. This will give you plenty of room to work with the flush valve. Before installing flush valve lubricate tabs with plumbers grease. Now put on a pair of work gloves, pushed down very hard and turn the tabs should slide easy because of the grease. Remember do not alter the gasket, the gasket needs to be compressed to do its job. I know removing the fill valve and the flush handle seems like a pain, but there is no way to get your hands in the proper position to install the flush valve assembly.

My Aprilaire is connected to the Hot water line and it stops working in approx 1 month. I just had plumbing work done and my new plumber said the problem it that it should be connected to the Cold Water...

Your plumber is correct your unit should be plumbed with cold water.
Easy fix if you need to do it yourself.
More than likely they have a 1/4 inch line taped into a 1/2 inch copper line near your furnace.
Simply shut off the tap on the undesired line and disconnect the 1/4 inch line.
Install a new tap on the cold water side and reintall supply line to the unit.

Do not remove the old tap on the hot water line simply shut it off because it puctures the line, hence the tap.

Plumber reversed the hot and cold lines during installation

Yes it can but I believe only the Pressure Balance Unit needs reversed.

1) Turn off water supply to unit
2) Remove handle/trim if installed
3) Remove cartridge by removing 3 screws holding cartridge
4) Remove retainer ring holding in P.B.U. in valve body by removing 3 screws
5) Remove Pressure Balance Unit, rotate 180ﹾ and reinsert
6) Reassemble in reverse order
