Question about Refrigerators

The top part of the refrigerator is not working but the bottom part (freezer) is working.

    Check that the fan in the freezer is working . Also check for frost build up inside the freezer , on the rear wall . Return with these answers , and the brand and complete model number , and a fixya expert will be glad to help you .

Check the fan against the back of the unit check 2 make sure its working and not frozen usually 4 screws remover cover and check fan also lube it if turning slow

check the condenser temperature when the compressor is running by hand it must be warm or hot if it is not then that means no refrigerant left in the system.This can be a possible cause.

Kenmore Elite Bottom Freezer - only top does not work


i would check to see if you hear a an blowing in the freezer sect when the door is opened, if you cant hear the fan blowing then there is yout issue, not circulating air up to refrig compartment

Top refrigerator section will not cool


Check the evaporator fan , freezer must have a fan to avoid ice formation, if evaporator does not work, thermic sensor jams up and freezer stop working. The fan is located behind the panel in the freezer.

Check the back of your freezer, If there is frost or ice, then the unit is not defrosting.
This is often caused by problems with evaporator system.
Sometimes you also need to check the defrost timer, located at the top of the FFC on the Top freezer.
Check also the defrost thermostat, which is on the evaporator inside the freezer.
If it isnt defrosting, change both.

Bottom is too warm


Make sure your fan is working ,its in the freezer behind panel .If not the fan your passage area is probably covered with ice and the air cant get in freezer
