My hitachi 57' big screen is showning double image and my blue and green colors are blurred

Your problem sounds like a common one: CONVERGENCE.

THIS model uses either two of the STK-392-150 OR 110 CHIPS.

If colors are skewed and or look 3d this is your problem.

If you are a do it yourself person---total parts cost if purchased on EBAY would be under 25 dollars and if you need assistance doing it I am available to assist you..

See attached photos of what a convergence problem looks like.

If the photos or information helped you, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

I have a 54 inch Hitachi 57G500. The picture is now showing double on the blue spectrum color and auto magic focus is not fixing it.

Most likely this set has bad convergence amp ic's and some open resistors. This can be a very tricky repair. Check:
resistors RK42, RK46,
RK50, RK54, RK58, RK62
Output STKs IK04, IK05.
Hopefully this will help. Thanks for using fixya.

Top left corner double picture red and green

you have a failed IC resistor usually you can physically see the bad one because it burns out leaving you to guess what the value was. Hitachi offers a convergence fix kit which has 2 IC's and all approiate resistors.

Pincusion green grid

Good Day,

This is a common problem with this TV, but there is an upgrade to correct the CONVERVGENCE circuit problem.
If you want to repair this concern yourself: Contact: B&D ENTERPRISES,
1-800-458-6053, www.bdent.com and ask for KIT10 for your Hitachi TV.
If you want some else to do the repair for you call an Authorized Service Center.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Hitachi 53uwx10b Convergence

The grid (called an overlay) is put in place to fine-tune one of the colors, usually green. Once one color is adjusted perfectly, the other 2 colors are adjusted to match the first color. For example, if the convergence data is completely erased, the tech will set up the overlay and align the green using to the overlay, and then align the red to the green and then the blue to the green. If the alignment is being done after replacing the convergence IC's because one or 2 colors are slightly off in the corners, the green is usually very close to perfect and the use of the overlay is not absolutely necessary. It is pretty easy to align one color using the outer edges of the screen itself. If you do need the overlay it can be purchased from any Hitachi parts distributor such as Herman Panson, Fox or Union Electronics.

Hi, you have a convergence problem, the IC`s and possibly a few precision resistors feeding the IC`s will have to be replaced, not an easy job if you haven`t done it before. If you are very proficient at solder work and can use a volt meter to check the resistors you can do the job but it isn`t easy for a lay-person, If you have more questions e-mail me back, good luck, BMW Rider
