I have an HP OfficeJet V40xi. My problem was getting an "cartridge black installed error" but it was properly installed! I am not try replacing with other cartridge yet...that might it be the...

The cartridge slots are not interchangeable so you will not put the color in the black etc.

Many HP printers will detect third party and re-filled ink cartridges and refuse to accept them. There is no way to override this in the software package.

I had a third party re-man ink cartridge work for two days and then the HP decided it didn't like it.

Mixed up the ink cartridges and now they are stuck

Turn the printer ON. Open panel to the right of feeder tray. Using something to leverage if necessary, apply pressure to front edge until it tilts outward and then slide it out.

Then you can push the replacement cartridge into position and close the panel. Unplug and plug back in the printer to reset the printer.

I put the black cartridge #56 into the tricolor in an HP 5610 Off

It just is "jammed" into place, like a round peg into a square hole.
Use a bit more strength, in order to "unjam" it.

Or, if you are not comfortable, take it to a qualified printer technician,
and let him/her remove it.

Color cartridge stuck

PULL AND THEN CLEAN THE SLOT WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL TO GET THE COLOR OFF THE BLACK SIDE. REMEMBER TO UNPLUG WHILE CLEANING. THEN CLEAN THE CARTRIDGE WITH ALCOHOL TOO. THEN PUT BACK IN RIGHT PLACE AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO. IT MAY TAKE SOME FORCE TO GET IT OUT. BUT REALLY NO CHOICE NOW. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU.

HP Deskjet F2100 All-in-one has two slots for printer cartidges. Which of these two slots is meant for photo cartidge?

The photo cartridge replaces the black cartridge. It is used along with the color cartridge to provide better photo's.

The photo cartridge contains photo black, light cyan and light magenta while the color cartridge provides cyan, magenta and yellow. Both photo and color cartridges need to be installed and working for proper photo printing.
